Full Job Description
Role Summary

We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to help lead our mapping, navigation, and trip planning experiences. This is one of the highest-opportunity domains in our software portfolio: charging-aware route planning, destination discovery, the navigation experience in the vehicle, and the trip planning tools owners rely on before and during every drive. You will partner closely with our product lead for mapping and trip planning, owning initiatives across the domain and taking them from strategy and roadmap through definition and delivery. The work spans the vehicle and the Rivian mobile app, so you will contribute to both roadmaps and create experiences that support drivers both in and out of the vehicle.

Responsibilities
  • Navigation and Trip Planning Initiatives: Take features across routing, charging-aware trip planning, and the in-vehicle navigation experience from strategy through delivery. Partner with our mapping and trip planning product lead on domain priorities, flexing across the domain as roadmap needs evolve.
  • Level-up Charging Experiences: charging on trips is a key area where software can ensure a better experience for the user. Partner with charging data teams to drive cross-functional improvement ideas through to delivery to the customer.
  • Drive Discovery and Adventure Planning: Shape how owners find places worth going, plan trips around charging, save and share routes, and revisit the drives they have taken. This is where mapping data becomes an experience owners come back to.
  • Deliver Across Vehicle and Mobile: Own features end to end wherever they land, so an owner gets one coherent journey from planning at home to navigating on the road. Contribute to the broader Rivian mobile app roadmap where navigation and trip planning surface on the phone.
  • Build on the Mapping Platform: Work within our mapping and navigation platform architecture and release model, partnering with platform and mobile product leads on shared dependencies.
  • Ship End to End: Take features from ideation to release with crisp requirements and user stories, daily collaboration with design and engineering, and the calls that keep releases moving.
  • Prioritize on Evidence: Use owner feedback, navigation and app analytics, and third-party quality data to inform decisions, and define the success metrics for everything you ship.
  • Align Across Organizations: Partner with vehicle software, cloud services, mapping data, and charging teams across the company to deliver coherent, high-quality experiences.
  • Champion AI-Assisted Planning: Help shape how AI changes trip planning, from smarter recommendations to assisted and conversational planning experiences.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Business, Engineering) or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of product management experience shipping consumer products at scale.
  • Proven experience taking products from zero to one - new products or major new experiences driven from concept through launch.
  • Proven end-to-end ownership from strategy through definition through delivery, in close partnership with design and engineering.
  • Strong analytical fluency: defining metrics, working directly with data, and adjusting course based on evidence.
  • Comfort using AI tools throughout the product craft from research synthesis to requirements to prototyping.
  • Experience synthesizing user insights, technical constraints, and business goals into actionable product decisions.
  • Clear, concise product writing and exceptional communication across teams and competing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct experience with maps, navigation, location-based, travel, or trip-planning products.
  • Experience with driving electric vehicles, EV charging networks, route planning with range constraints, or range prediction.
  • Experience in automotive, mobility, or connected devices - in-vehicle or infotainment experience a plus.
  • Experience developing and shipping products for mobile applications (iOS or Android).
  • Hands-on work with AI-assisted or LLM-powered product experiences.
  • Familiarity with mobile and vehicle analytics tools ( e.g., Firebase)
