Senior Process Engineer - Shield Cleaning

Position Overview

VEM is looking for a Senior Process Engineer to help build and grow our Shield Cleaning

process capability. This is a build-oriented role: you'll take on new cleaning jobs from initial

evaluation through qualified production, and help shape how our shield cleaning capability

grows to meet demand.

You'll be a key technical resource for customers, sales, and operations on shield cleaning

process and capability and part of the team driving how our production lines expand.

Duties & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

Daily Production Support
• Provide day-to-day engineering support to production to ensure safety, quality, and on-

time delivery of shield cleaning orders
• Be the technical resource the floor escalates to when a process issue comes up

New Process Introduction (Quote to Production)
• Evaluate incoming quote requests to determine whether we have the capability to

perform a given clean, and what it would take if we don't
• Build out the actual cleaning process for new jobs: chemistry, cycle, equipment,

validation. From initial evaluation through qualified production• Own the technical conversation with customers on cleaning capability and

requirements.

Capability & Capacity Expansion
• Help design new shield cleaning production lines as we expand capacity including

equipment selection, layout, process design
• Support installation of new equipment and analytical instruments; lead qualification
• Help drive our Shield Cleaning capability roadmap forward, closing gaps between

current and target capability
• Contribute to active capability projects (clean room expansion and related initiatives)

Process Ownership & Standardization
• Own process control, SPC monitoring, and control plans for Shield Cleaning, spanning

precision cleaning and surface enhancement processes
• Lead risk mitigation through FMEA
• Build out routings, work instructions, and standard operations, reducing reliance on

tribal knowledge
• Write and maintain SOPs; train operations on new and changed processes

Technical Leadership
• Serve as a senior technical resource on shield cleaning process and chemistry, working

alongside other process engineering team members
• Mentor and guide less experienced engineers on shield cleaning-specific process

knowledge
• Partner with quality, operations, and customers on process performance and

qualifications

Required Qualifications
• 8 years of process engineering experience, ideally with precision cleaning, metal

finishing, or chemical process background.
• Strong grasp of chemical solutions and their interaction with metals; contamination

control and cleanroom fundamentals
• Experience taking a process from evaluation/quoting through qualified production
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Materials Science, or related preferred)
• Experience with ISO 9001 systems a plus

Compensation & Benefits
• Target base salary: $80K - $110K
• Annual bonus target: 10% of base salary
