Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has an opening for an Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead with hardware design and manufacturing experience. This position is located in Linthicum, MD.

This IPT Lead will be required to lead an engineering team working to transition designs to production for an important sector priority program with many time-critical elements and high management visibility. They will interface with personnel in the factory test cells, Engineering & Program Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Mission Assurance. In addition, they will brief internal and potentially external customer leadership on progress.

The selected candidate will perform in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings. The selected candidate is expected to be self-motivated, highly organized, detail oriented and possess effective verbal and written communication skills.

These roles are contingent upon candidates having a current Active Government Secret clearance.

These roles are contingent upon Program Award.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or STEM-related degree, with 8 years of industry experience, or master's degree and 6 years of industry experience. An additional 4 years' experience in lieu of a degree is acceptable.
  • Active Secret clearance required to start.
  • 6-month minimum experience with hardware design and/or hardware integration & test
  • 6-month minimum experience in factory production and factory test environment
  • Demonstrated project leadership skills with 6-month minimum experience leading an Integrated Product Team (IPT) of engineers and support staff and/or other leadership roles supporting a program or business function
  • Available full-time onsite at the Northrop Grumman BWI facility in Maryland during first shift


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience reporting project status to program, functional management and customers
  • Experience working with Global Supply Chain and Manufacturing Material Processing
  • Knowledge of the Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
  • Experience with the Root Cause Correction Action (RCCA) process
  • Experience with Integration and testing at the Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) or Line Replaceable Module (LRM) levels
  • Fluency with developing and executing project schedules
  • Experience managing products in the critical path of a program
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus
  • Active and current Top Secret government clearance a plus


Primary Level Salary Range: $135,800.00 - $203,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
