Full Job Description
Location: Wilmington, MA
Employment Type: Exempt, Full-Time, Onsite
Salary: $155,000.00 - $205,000.00 + Annual Bonus

The Plant Manager provides overall leadership of the operation of the Wilmington site. The Wilmington site supports both Estane and Life Sciences businesses within Lubrizol Advanced Materials division. The Plant Manager is accountable for safety, quality, delivery, cost, people, capital management and continuous improvement. The Plant Manager is responsible for setting the vision for the site that allows for the effective planning and execution of all activities needed to support safely deliver products and services to our customers, while ensuring overall sound and responsible operation of the facility.

  • Champion safety as a core value and ensure accountability for safety performance at all levels of the organization.
  • Lead Manufacturing, HSE&S, Quality, logistics, Maintenance, and Engineering functions, including responsibility for expense and capital budgets.
  • Ensure implementation of Lubrizol systems and procedures to support HSE&S, operations, human resources, and finance objectives.
  • Foster teamwork, ownership, and responsiveness to meet manufacturing and business needs.
  • Develop and execute the Wilmington annual operating plan in alignment with business and operations requirements.
  • Lead talent management, employee development, and constructive employee relations to build organizational capability.
  • Partner with marketing, sales, and R&D to support product development, scale-up, and product modifications.
  • Build strong relationships across operations to improve connectivity and ensure on-time delivery to customers.
  • Partner with business and commercial teams through a collaborative, business-driven approach to support site and business priorities.


Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success.
  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, chemistry, polymer, material, or relevant engineering field, advanced degree in engineering or MBA is a plus
  • Minimum 8 years manufacturing leadership and over 15 years of manufacturing experience in the chemical or relevant industry
    • Proven ability to effectively lead with minimal supervision, demonstrating an entrepreneurial attitude.
    • Medical polymers or medical industry experience is preferred
  • Proven ability to effectively lead with minimal supervision, demonstrating an entrepreneurial attitude.
  • Proficient in leading the plant, providing direction, support and development for manufacturing teams across the plant.
  • Experienced at driving team development and performance, ensuring a high level of employee engagement.
  • Can effectively work in a matrix organization.
  • Strong communication and networking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills as well as facilitation experience.
  • Must demonstrate enthusiasm, a sense of urgency, attention to detail, commitment and follow-through while maintaining confidentiality and meeting deadlines.
