Full Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Systems Liaison Engineer to join our Liaison Engineering organization. In this role, you will serve as the subject matter expert for aircraft mechanical systems, such as Environmental Control Systems (ECS), Water and Waste Systems, aircraft control systems, and other mechanical and structural subsystems. You will focus on system interactions, real time troubleshooting, and test support across the product lifecycle. You will work directly with design engineering, manufacturing, quality, and test teams to resolve issues, ensure system integrity, and support successful system, ground, and flight test execution.
Responsibilities:
• Provide technical liaison support for aircraft mechanical systems throughout production, integration, and test activities
• Lead root cause analysis and resolve system‑level issues, non‑conformances, and test anomalies
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, interface requirements, Aircraft Maintenance manuals (AMM), and test data to diagnose and correct system behavior
• Support system, ground, and flight test activities, including test readiness, troubleshooting, and data analysis
• Develop and approve engineering dispositions, repairs, rework instructions, and temporary deviations
• Coordinate system‑level technical actions across engineering, quality, manufacturing, and test organizations
• Document findings, corrective actions, and verification results in accordance with engineering standards
• Mentor junior engineers in liaison engineering practices, system troubleshooting, and effective cross‑functional communication
Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives within liaison processes and system integration activities
Provide support to additional mechanical and structural disciplines as needed
Qualifications You Must Have:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline
• 10+ years of experience in mechanical or systems engineering, including hands‑on liaison or test support experience
• Strong understanding of aircraft mechanical systems and how they behave and interact under operational and test conditions
• Demonstrated experience with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, reports, ICDs, system‑level requirements, and Aircraft Maintenance manuals (AMM)
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary engineering, manufacturing, and test teams
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications We Prefer:
• Master’s degree or higher in a relevant engineering field
• Experience supporting assembly, integration, ground test, and/or flight test activities
• Highly experienced with FAA regulations and familiar with additional aerospace regulatory frameworks (EASA, DoD, NASA)
• Experience with MRB, non‑conformance management, and engineering dispositions
• Knowledge of MBSE tools, requirements management, or system modeling techniques
• Experience with test instrumentation, data acquisition systems, or test analysis tools
• Background in developing or delivering technical training or mentoring
• Experienced in maintenance and modification of Boeing commercial aircraft
Essential Functions:
• Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.
• Occasional travel may be required.
• Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment.
• Applying systematic and logical problem-solving techniques to develop mechanical designs
• Clearly convey technical information, design specifications, and project updates to team members, stakeholders, and management
• Ability to understand technical documents, designs and test reports.
