Senior Estimator

Aurora, CO

$95,000-$120,000 + Bonus + Benefits

Senior Estimators at RK Industries play a critical role in bringing complex projects from concept to reality. In this role, you'll lead high-impact bids, provide strategic pricing and value engineering, mentor Estimators, and partner closely with Preconstruction and Operations to set projects up for success.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and coordinate estimates for complex projects from initial concept through bid submission and turnover to Operations.
  • Mentor, train, and support Estimators while ensuring the team is prepared for upcoming bids.
  • Review project documents and identify scope, design, and estimating gaps.
  • Perform and oversee material, labor, and equipment takeoffs.
  • Develop conceptual, budgetary, and trend pricing for Preconstruction projects.
  • Provide detailed pricing breakouts and complete, trade-specific estimates.
  • Identify and develop value engineering opportunities that improve project value and constructability.
  • Clarify project scope with General Contractors, Engineers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Obtain, review, and qualify vendor and subcontractor quotes.
  • Assemble accurate and timely bid tabs and pre-close bids before submission.
  • Compare estimates against historical data and similar projects to verify accuracy.
  • Track productivity and pricing from completed projects and incorporate lessons learned into future estimates.
  • Identify and document difficult, non-standard, or unique project conditions.
  • Update and maintain estimating database pricing.
  • Serve as a key liaison between Estimating, Preconstruction, and Operations.
  • Support project turnover by helping ensure Operations has the information needed for successful execution.


What You Bring
  • 10+ years of relevant estimating experience or an equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of estimating, project scope, pricing, and construction processes.
  • Ability to independently make sound decisions and recommendations that impact projects and business objectives.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to anticipate challenges and develop creative solutions for complex or non-standard projects.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across departments and with external partners.
  • Experience mentoring or developing Estimators is preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate work within deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to understand both the big picture and the finer details of a project.
