ABOUT THE ROLEThe Senior Estimator C&I (Commercial and Industrial) position is responsible for preparing and completing complex, multi-discipline projects and strategizes competitiveness, profitability, and growth. The Senior Estimator provides leadership to the estimating group and oversees formal bid reviews.
Essential Functions- Prepare estimates per MYR Group policies and procedures
- Review proposal specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate in order to prepare quality and accurate estimates for various commercial and industrial projects
- Develops competitive pricing strategies including alternates, value engineering, phasing, and contingency
- Identify qualified suppliers/subcontractors and be responsible to solicit quotes; review quote for completeness and conformance with plans and specs
- Lead and guide estimators in producing precise and comprehensive takeoffs
- Directs subcontractor strategies (scope breakdowns, negotiations, and completeness)
- Develop labor productivity and (installation unit costs where applicable) based on projected site conditions and historical data
- Responsible for the timely completion of all client-required documents, along with all required bid submittal documents
- Participate in estimate review process with internal and external stakeholders and incorporate feedback to improve accuracy
- Own bid compliance and final pricing strategy with leadership
- Contribute your technical expertise to the bid and proposal process by defining construction methodologies, resource requirements, and execution strategies for each project
- Collaborate with construction personnel throughout the project life cycle in tracking and understanding of cost estimates
- Preparation and submission of change orders
- Drive ongoing process improvement by applying structured problem-solving and continuous improvement methodologies

- Essential functions of the position are to be performed at a Company-designated office or field location

ABOUT YOUQualifications- Minimum 5 years of electrical construction estimating experience
Preferred Education- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a similar field; combination of relevant education and experience considered in lieu of degree
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities- Knowledgeable of current local and national electrical codes (N.E.C.)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and/or engineering design drawings and documents
- Knowledgeable of electrical materials and methods of installation
- Proficient in using computers, Microsoft Office applications, Accubid, and Bluebeam
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven capability to estimate multiple project types and oversee team performance
WHAT WE OFFERCompensation & Benefits- Salary $120,000 - $150,000/year
- Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
