Job Summary: The Engineer III works as part of a team to develop and support mechanical products, applying engineering concepts to moderately complex challenges with guidance from senior engineers. This role focuses on strengthening technical skills, contributing to design, verification, and production efforts, and supporting short-term problem-solving and planning within defined project parameters.
Essential Functions, Roles, and Responsibilities: Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.
- Works as part of a team to develop and support products within the Technology groups.
- Work is usually performed with the minimal oversight of a more Senior Engineer.
- Develops skills to make work decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.
- Mechanical Engineering is a field that combines physics, chemistry, and mathematics principles with materials science, to design, analyze, manufacture, and maintain mechanical systems.
- Mechanical Engineers leverage principles from these core sub-disciplines with computer-aided design (CAD), computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), and product lifecycle management tools to create and analyze industrial equipment, or processes such as fluid transport, liquid/gas compression, combustion or heating and cooling systems.
- Delivers engineering and scientific efforts related to the design of new products and services and new designs for customer projects.
- Delivery of projects through the design, verification, production and, if required, commercialization stages.
- Usually consists of a cross-disciplinary organization executing projects to support technology portfolio strategy. Coordinates closely with Discipline, Research, and Testing teams as needed.
Education, Training, Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 8 years of experience in Engineering/Technology).
