Sr. Material PlannerAbout the Team
Lucid's Supply Chain team plays a critical role in ensuring the right materials are available at the right time to support vehicle production, launch readiness, and operational continuity. The team partners closely with Purchasing, Manufacturing, Engineering, Supplier Quality, Logistics, and New Product Introduction to anticipate constraints, solve material challenges, and protect production schedules. What makes this team unique is the scale and complexity of its work, supporting a broad supplier base and thousands of parts in a fast-moving electric vehicle manufacturing environment where decisions directly impact build readiness, cost, inventory, and customer delivery.
About the Role
The Senior Material Planner is a senior-level individual contributor role reporting to the Material Planning Manager. This role exists to strengthen material readiness, supplier execution, and production support as Lucid continues to scale operations in Arizona. In the first 12 months, this person will own material planning performance for assigned suppliers and parts, improve visibility to supply risks, drive resolution of shortages, and support clear-to-build readiness for production and launches. Success will be measured by improved on-time, in-full delivery performance, accurate material coverage, effective supplier follow-up, reduced production disruption, and clear communication of risks and recovery plans. A strong candidate will gain direct ownership of high-impact planning decisions in a complex EV manufacturing environment, with exposure to cross-functional launch activity, supplier performance management, and executive-level operational visibility that may not be available in a comparable planning role.
What You Own
- Supply Planning: Develop and communicate material requirements to assigned suppliers using MRP systems to protect production schedules, inventory targets, and cost objectives.
- Supplier Execution: Own day-to-day supplier follow-up for assigned parts, driving delivery commitments, issue resolution, and recovery plans when supply risk threatens production readiness.
- OTIF Performance: Partner with suppliers to improve On-Time, In-Full delivery performance and support corrective actions that reduce lead time, shortages, and recurring delivery misses.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Work with Purchasing, NPI, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, and Logistics to resolve material constraints, support launches, and align stakeholders on risk mitigation decisions.
- Build Readiness: Provide clear-to-build status, material coverage analysis, run-out reporting, and shortage visibility to support production decisions and minimize operational disruption.
- Inventory Control: Analyze system parameters, replenishment signals, and inventory levels to recommend actions that balance production continuity, cost control, and obsolescence risk.
- Performance Insights: Lead supplier and material review discussions, using data-driven recommendations, scorecards, and scenario analysis to guide decisions and improve planning execution.
