Full Job Description
This Senior IT Auditor role has a specialized focus on Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence environments. The role leads end-to-end audit engagements covering IT infrastructure, AI systems, data flows, cybersecurity controls, and operating procedures in accordance with established professional standards for efficiency, accuracy, security, and risk mitigation. Working with limited supervision, this position applies deep industry, technical, and regulatory expertise to assess information systems, platforms, emerging technologies (including artificial intelligence), and IT operating processes and procedures, while serving as a subject matter resource across the team.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Oversees delivery of IT and AI audit engagements against budgets, timelines, and quality expectations, while guiding staff auditors on workload management.
  • Leads audit planning and scoping for IT and AI engagements, identifying key technology risks and critical controls, and developing detailed audit programs with specific procedures and testing approaches.
  • Conducts complex testing in high-risk IT and AI environments, maintaining high workpaper quality and ensuring documentation meets professional standards with clear audit trails.
  • Conducts audit assessments of cloud platforms and emerging technologies underpinning AI systems, evaluating cloud-native controls, third-party service provider risks, and infrastructure configurations to identify control gaps and ensure alignment with organizational risk tolerance and regulatory expectations.
  • Identifies, analyzes, and documents IT and AI audit findings with comprehensive detail regarding root causes, potential impacts, and systemic implications, and provides recommendations to address identified risks.
  • Compiles test exceptions to determine root cause and drafts audit issues related to IT infrastructure, AI systems, data flows, and operating procedures for inclusion in audit reports.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for technology and AI audit clients, clearly communicating IT and AI risk and control strengths and concerns to peers, supervisors, and clients.
  • Partners with the Data Analytics team to leverage advanced analytics techniques in IT and AI audit approaches, identifying patterns and anomalies that enhance audit effectiveness.
  • Provides coaching and mentorship to staff auditors on IT and AI concepts, serving as a subject matter resource on information technology, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity topics, including access management, cloud security controls, data loss prevention, and penetration testing.
  • Maintains current expertise in IT, AI governance, cybersecurity, and relevant regulatory frameworks; has achieved or is pursuing Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and AI-specific certifications to support continuous professional development.
  • Demonstrates professional judgment by applying critical thinking and intellectual curiosity to complex and technical audits, and effectively manages relationships across technology and business functions.

Base Pay Range: $91,700/yr - $126,000/yr

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
