Position Description: CGI is seeking to hire an experienced Full Stack Engineer with strong expertise in Java, microservices, API development, and AWS cloud technologies.
In this role, you will design and develop scalable, enterprise grade applications, modernize existing platforms, and contribute to cloud native engineering initiatives. You will work across complex distributed architectures and high volume transactional systems while collaborating with architects, engineering teams, product teams, and business stakeholders.
The role requires strong hands on engineering experience, the ability to solve complex technical challenges, and a commitment to engineering best practices.
This is a Full-Time, On-Site Opportunity based in our Cary, NC or Plano, TX offices.
Your future duties and responsibilities: . Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices
. Build and integrate secure, scalable REST APIs
. Design cloud solutions leveraging AWS Lambda, SNS, SQS, Glue, and EventBridge
. Develop event driven and asynchronous solutions using Kafka and messaging technologies
. Modernize and re platform large enterprise applications into cloud native architectures
. Design and optimize solutions using Oracle and PostgreSQL
. Build and support high volume, business critical transactional applications with a focus on performance, reliability, and scalability
. Develop and enhance automated CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins
. Apply DevSecOps practices throughout the software development lifecycle
. Participate in technical design, code reviews, testing, deployment, and production support
. Troubleshoot complex application and integration issues and support reliable production releases
. Collaborate with architects, product teams, business stakeholders, and engineers to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions
. Contribute to engineering modernization using GenAI and AI assisted development practices
. Mentor engineers and promote software engineering standards and best practices
Required qualifications to be successful in this role: . 10+ years of hands on software development experience in enterprise environments
. Strong expertise in Java 17 and Spring Boot
. Strong experience designing and developing microservices and REST APIs
. Hands on experience with AWS cloud services, including Lambda, SNS, SQS, Glue, and EventBridge
. Strong understanding of event driven architecture, asynchronous processing, and Kafka
. Experience with Jenkins, CI/CD, and DevSecOps practices
. Strong experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL
. Experience designing and supporting high volume transactional systems
. Experience modernizing or re platforming large scale enterprise applications
. Strong understanding of cloud native architecture and distributed systems
. Understanding of application performance, scalability, resiliency, reliability, and security
. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem solving capabilities
. Excellent communication and collaboration skills
. Ability to provide technical guidance and mentor other engineers
. Ability and willingness to work onsite from the designated office location
Nice to Have
. Experience with Dropwizard
. Experience with Drools or other business rules engines
. Exposure to GenAI, AI assisted development, or specification driven development
. Experience in Financial Services or other highly regulated industries
Education: Bachelor's in computer science or closely related field

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $89,600.00 $172,400.00.
