Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

 

Strattec is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst - Operations to join our finance team. This role, based in our Corporate headquarters in Glendale, is a key contributor to plant-level financial reporting, cost control, and operational decision support, partnering closely with plant, procurement and quality functions  and the broader finance organization to ensure the integrity and accuracy of operational financial results.

 

This is a high-visibility role with strong learning and growth potential for someone early in their operations finance career. The Senior Financial Analyst will work closely with the Operations Controller and gain hands-on exposure to plant leadership and cross-functional partners in supply chain, procurement, and continuous improvement — a great opportunity to build a broad foundation in operations finance.

 

This role will also support freight, logistics, and tariff cost accounting, plant accrual processes, and budget-to-actual reporting, with growing exposure to scorecard maintenance, continuous improvement (CI) tracking, and working capital analysis. The ideal candidate is curious, coachable, and eager to build their skill set in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operations Accounting

  • Responsible for the monthly accounting, analysis and financial close process for freight and logistics costs, ensuring accurate recognition and clear visibility into cost trends by lane, carrier, and program.
  • Lead tariff accounting and cost tracking, monitoring the financial impact of tariff changes on landed cost and partnering with supply chain and trade compliance team to quantify exposure and mitigation opportunities.
  • Accumulate tariff documentation and prepare tariff support packages for customers to allow for recovery of tariff costs.
  • Investigate and explain freight, logistics, and tariff variances against budget and prior period, connecting results to underlying operational drivers.
  • Prepare and maintain ongoing plant-level accruals, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timely recognition in accordance with company policy and US GAAP.
  • Active participant in month-end close activities across operations finance.

Plant Budgeting, Forecasting & Reporting

  • Help prepare plant-level budget-to-actual reporting, providing clear, well-supported variance analysis for presentation to plant and operations leadership.
  • Partner with plant operations leaders to build the annual operating budget, incorporating volume, labor, material, and overhead assumptions into a defensible financial plan.
  • Support monthly and quarterly reforecasting, updating the full-year outlook based on current run-rate performance and known business changes.
  • Compile and distribute the monthly plant financial reporting package, translating results into a clear narrative for plant and operations leadership.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requests from plant and operations leadership, including scenario modeling to support decision-making.

Performance Metrics & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain and update plant scorecards, ensuring KPIs accurately reflect operational performance are connected to financial results. Deliver scorecard updates timely.
  • Track and validate savings from continuous improvement (CI) projects, ensuring benefits are properly quantified, documented, and reflected in plant financial results.
  • Maintain the CONC (cost of non-conformance) baseline, monitoring trends and tracking one-time items.

Working Capital & Strategic Initiatives

  • Monitor inventory level and assist operations team in tracking actions relative to target as well as inventory quality and scrap metrics.
  • Participate in strategic initiatives sponsored by operations and finance leadership, providing analytical support and financial modeling as needed.
  • Identify gaps or inefficiencies in existing plant finance processes and partner with the Operations Controller to develop and implement practical, sustainable improvements.

The successful candidate must be highly organized, analytically strong, and comfortable operating in a visible, cross-functional role. Additional required qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, 3-5 years of experience in finance, cost accounting, or FP&A. Must have experience within a manufacturing environment
  • CPA preferred
  • Interest in manufacturing, operations, or plant finance; prior exposure to cost accounting or FP&A a plus, not required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; comfort learning new systems and reporting tools
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to ask questions and build relationships across finance and operations
  • Organized and able to manage multiple priorities, with support from the team as you ramp up
  • A curious, proactive mindset and genuine interest in learning the fundamentals of operations finance
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a strong work ethic and a continuous improvement mindset

  • Schedule: Full-time
  • Location: Hybrid, on-site 4 days per week.
  • Travel: Up to 5%
