Please review the job details below.Intuitive Machines is seeking a self-motivated and innovative Sr. Electrical Engineer to join our Solar Array, Battery, and Mechanisms team in San Jose, CA. In this role, you will serve as a technical subject matter expert for spacecraft solar array electrical systems, supporting both the development of next-generation products and the continued evolution of our existing product line.
You will work closely with program, systems, manufacturing, test, and supplier teams to develop, qualify, integrate, and operate high-performance solar array systems for space exploration missions. Key Responsibilities- Serve as the electrical subject matter expert for spacecraft solar arrays within the Electrical Power Subsystem.
- Lead electrical aspects of solar array development, qualification, integration, testing, and on-orbit operations.
- Develop and maintain solar array on-orbit power predictions and performance models for spacecraft programs.
- Analyze on-orbit telemetry and correlate actual solar array performance with predicted power models.
- Provide technical support for on-orbit anomalies, troubleshooting, and root-cause investigations.
- Develop and manage risk mitigation plans related to solar cell technologies and solar array electrical performance.
- Support procurement, design, integration, and testing of spacecraft solar array photovoltaic assemblies (PVAs).
- Support development and qualification of new and heritage solar array hardware to meet mission-specific requirements.
- Develop and review technical documentation, including requirements, test plans, test procedures, analyses, and reports.
- Support technical reviews and customer presentations, including PDR, CDR, TRR, MRR, and other program milestones.
- Maintain oversight of product-line documentation, including qualification records, test data, performance databases, and lessons learned.
- Provide engineering approval and technical direction for subsystem and spacecraft design reviews.
- Coordinate with Systems Engineering and other subsystem teams to ensure alignment of solar array performance predictions, spacecraft power requirements, and electrical interfaces.
- Work directly with suppliers and manufacturing teams to resolve technical issues and ensure hardware meets design and performance requirements.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers supporting solar array electrical development and operations.
Required Qualifications- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. A master's degree may be counted as two years of experience.
- 5+ years of engineering experience in aerospace, spacecraft power systems, solar technology, or a related field.
- Experience developing, testing, analyzing, or supporting electrical systems or space hardware.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work through complex technical issues.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
Preferred Skills and Experience- Experience with spacecraft solar array electrical design, qualification, circuit modeling, testing, and data analysis.
- Experience with DC circuit analysis and power system design.
- Familiarity with solar cell and solar array manufacturing processes and industry best practices.
- Experience supporting assembly, integration, and test (AIT) of electrical or spacecraft hardware in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with international suppliers and managing technical issues through design, manufacturing, and acceptance testing.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information effectively to engineers, program teams, customers, and senior leadership.
- Experience with spacecraft or aerospace industry standards and processes is a plus.

The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.
• The base pay for this position within California is: $104,000.00 - $173,000.00 annually.
For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
