Full Job Description
Position Summary

The primary responsibility of this position is the organization and analysis of unit information obtained from leases, agreements, drilling and division order title opinions, title requirements, curative, and other land related documents. This information is used to create and amend divisions of interest for the purposes of billing, revenue disbursements, division/transfer orders, including the set up and maintenance of revenue, JIB, take in kind, and all other related decks. The senior division order analyst will mentor junior analysts, and will report to the Division Order Supervisor.

Responsibilities:
  • Prior to division of interest set-up of producing unit, analyze lease, contract, and legal title files for proper well set ups for both revenue and billing purposes. Review title opinions, joint operating agreements, unit designations, plats, and letter agreements. Review post production caps.
  • Ensure that producing well set-ups and owner maintenance is completed as assigned on or before the monthly accounting deadline.
  • Monitor drilling schedule and DOA assignment schedule to set up new properties in a timely manner. Interface with rig line captains and landmen to manage and maintain unit set ups and unit amendments.
  • Research files, analyze wills and deeds to solve complicated estate, transfer, and ownership changes/discrepancies.
  • Review and manage suspense and escheat items.
  • Understand and follow all SOX requirements as established for the department.
  • Review and approve work completed by others per SOX compliance departmental standards.
  • Perform complicated calculations of divisions of interest. Accurately input division of interest information (revenue, joint interest billing and take in kind decks).
  • Review title documents for ownership transfers (estate paperwork/legal title conveyances). Work closely with Owner Relations Team to respond to owner inquiries and advise of requirements to allow for proper payment of their interest. Update decks and issue transfer orders/notices.
  • Prepare reversal/rebooking decks as necessary to ensure revenue prior period adjustments are completed accurately.
  • Generate suspense reports and release suspense as appropriate.
  • Interact with peer departments to obtain relevant information that impacts ownership and revenue distribution
  • Assist in audit review as necessary.
  • Review and approve work completed by others per SOX compliance departmental standards.
  • Run queries and generate reports as necessary.
  • Research and input non-operated interests.
  • Identify and verify leasehold and unit acreage using WebMap.
  • Mentor lower level Division Order Analysts.

Minimum Education: Bachelors in Business Administration, Petroleum Land Management, Energy Management, Accounting or related field preferred

Minimum Experience: 8+ years experience

Professional Certifications/Training Preferred: Certified Division Order Analyst (CDOA), National Association of Division Order Analysts (NADOA), Dallas Fort Worth Association of Division Order Analysts (DALWORTH)
