Description Overview Synaptics is looking for a highly accomplished Sr. Director, Sales, Americas PC to lead our PC segment sales organization. This role will have responsibility for Dell Technologies, HP Inc., Microsoft, and the business units, subsidiaries, brands, and affiliated entities operating within their respective organizations. You will develop and hold accountable a team of sales professionals responsible for expanding Synaptics' strategic position, revenue, and market share across these customers. The successful candidate will combine executive-level customer engagement, semiconductor industry expertise, organizational leadership, and strong commercial judgment, and requires close partnership across Synaptics to align customer priorities with the company's product and technology roadmaps. This position reports to the VP, Sales and Field Applications. Americas.
The typical base pay range for this position is USD $210,000 - $330,330 per year. Individual pay is determined by many factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus, equity, and other benefits. Note that compensation listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
Responsibilities & Competencies Job Duties
- Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for the Americas PC segment, including Dell Technologies, HP Inc., Microsoft, and their respective subsidiaries, brands, business units, and affiliated entities
- Own the overall customer strategy, revenue plan, opportunity pipeline, design-win objectives, and market-share growth across the assigned segment
- Translate Synaptics' corporate and product strategies into clear account priorities, measurable objectives, and executable customer plans
- Identify and pursue opportunities to expand Synaptics' presence across existing programs, emerging product categories, and new areas of customer investment
- Maintain detailed account penetration plans, organizational maps, executive engagement strategies, competitive assessments, and opportunity roadmaps and provide accurate and timely revenue forecasts, opportunity assessments, demand visibility, and risk analysis
- Drive customer engagements from early technology alignment and product evaluation through design win, qualification, production ramp, and ongoing business expansion
- Develop and maintain trusted relationships with senior customer executives, engineering leaders, procurement organizations, business-unit leaders, and other key decision-makers
- Lead complex commercial engagements, including pricing strategy, contract negotiations, long-term supply agreements, and other strategic business arrangements
- Anticipate changes in customer strategy, market conditions, technology requirements, and competitive dynamics, and adjust the segment plan to mitigate risk
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of sales professionals
- Represent the Americas PC segment in senior-level business reviews, strategic planning discussions, and operating meetings

Qualifications (Requirements)
- Bachelor's (MBA, Master's preferred) degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Business Administration or related field or equivalent
- 15+ years of progressive sales, account management, or business development experience within the semiconductor industry with a minimum of 7+ years managing and mentoring high performing sales teams
- Significant experience leading and developing sales teams responsible for large, complex, and strategically important customer relationships.
- Deep understanding of the PC and client-computing ecosystem, including product-development cycles, platform architectures, semiconductor selection processes, design-win execution, supply-chain dynamics, and volume production ramps.
- Demonstrated success developing and executing strategic account plans that produce sustainable revenue growth, market-share expansion, and new product adoption.
- Experience managing major global OEM customers; direct experience with Dell Technologies, HP Inc., Microsoft, or comparable large technology companies is strongly preferred.
- Proven success establishing executive relationships and navigating complex customer organizations with multiple business units, geographies, and decision-making centers.
- Experience negotiating and closing significant, complex commercial agreements.
- Strong forecasting, pipeline-management, and operational discipline.
- Domestic and international travel up to 25% required
