What You'll Do Social Media Strategy & Channel Leadership - Develop and own the organization's organic social media strategy across Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, X, and LinkedIn.
- Establish a clear vision for audience growth, engagement, brand awareness, and long-term social impact.
- Maintain deep knowledge of social media algorithms, platform trends, formats, and best practices.
- Identify and capitalize on emerging cultural conversations and high-stakes news moments.
- Develop and monitor KPIs and regularly report performance and insights to Marketing leadership.
- Own the social media budget, including agency relationships, creator partnerships, and technology.
Content & Creative Execution - Lead the planning, creation, and publishing cadence for social media content.
- Provide creative direction and platform-specific recommendations for social assets.
- Ensure content is compelling, timely, polished, and optimized for each platform.
- Remain hands-on with content creation and publishing when team capacity or priorities require it.
- Oversee community engagement and ensure the organization's voice is consistently represented across platforms.
- Respond quickly to breaking news, legal developments, and other time-sensitive opportunities.
Cross-Functional Partnership - Partner closely with Creative Services to shape content and ensure assets are optimized for social distribution.
- Collaborate with Digital Advertising to align organic and paid social strategies.
- Work closely with Communications on rapid-response priorities and breaking developments.
- Bring audience and platform insights into broader marketing and communications strategy.
- Surface high-performing organic content that may be appropriate for paid amplification.
Team Leadership - Lead, develop, and mentor the organization's social media team.
- Initially manage one direct report, with the opportunity to grow the team over time.
- Establish priorities, workflows, and expectations for the team.
- Ensure projects are completed with excellence, on time, within budget, and consistent with organizational brand and messaging standards.
- Balance leadership responsibilities with hands-on execution.
What We're Looking For - Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- 10+ years of social media experience, ideally within a large, complex organization or comparable agency environment.
- 5+ years of experience managing a high-performing social media team.
- Deep knowledge of social media algorithms, trends, formats, KPIs, and performance metrics.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a comprehensive organic social media strategy.
- Proven ability to respond quickly and thoughtfully to breaking news, cultural moments, and rapidly changing priorities.
- Strong understanding of the marketing funnel and the role organic social plays in brand awareness, engagement, and retention.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Executive presence with the ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership.
- A hands-on leadership style with a willingness to personally contribute to content creation and execution.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience within a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
- Legal industry or law firm experience.
- Background in advocacy, government, public policy, or political communications.
- Experience working in a fast-paced communications environment where rapid response is critical.
- Experience with Wrike or similar project management platforms.
- Familiarity with organizations or causes operating in the legal advocacy space.

Work Environment This is a
hybrid position requiring four days onsite and one day remote each week.
