Description & RequirementsJOB SUMMARY: The Sr. Director, Enterprise AI Enablement owns
AI-for-Operators end to end - the workforce-facing leg of One Call's AI strategy. Reporting to the VP, Delivery Management with executive sponsorship from the CTO, this role is accountable for the strategy, the architecture, the P&L, the governance, and the executive championing that turn One Call's AI vision into measurable workforce productivity.
This is a governor-and-strategist role, not a hands-on builder: you set the frame, own the guardrails, and lead a small, high-leverage nucleus - a Sr. Manager and two differentiated individual contributors - that also serves as the Center of Excellence for the AI-for-Operators community of practice. You are the lever and the champion for AI for Operators at the executive table, owning the vision, the investment case, the operating boundaries, and the governance that make workforce AI defensible in a regulated, PHI/PII environment. Your success is measured in accelerated time-to-value and productivity gains across the enterprise - not in tools installed or automations you personally ship.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: A senior technology leader accountable to:
- OWN the AI-for-Operators strategy, architecture, and P&L - from vision to funded, governed capability.
- GOVERN responsible workforce AI use across a regulated enterprise - the accountable owner of AI-for-Operators governance.
- CHAMPION the capability at the executive level and hold its boundaries against adjacent AI organizations.
Strategy, Architecture & P&L - 30% - Own the AI-for-Operators strategy and multi-year roadmap; translate One Call's AI vision into a funded, staged capability with clear outcomes.
- Own the P&L for the capability - vendor/license strategy (Claude, Notion, Linear, and successors), build-vs-buy calls, and investment prioritization tied to value delivered.
- Own the reference architecture for workforce-facing AI - how tools, shared assets, agents, and data seams fit together into a coherent, scalable whole.
- Set the outcome model (time-to-value, productivity/efficiency gains) and hold the nucleus and portfolio to it.
Governance & Responsible AI - 25% - Own the AI-for-Operators governance framework - data privacy, PHI/PII handling, security, LLM usage standards, and output validation - as the accountable owner, with a dotted line to Security/Compliance and the ETGC.
- Set and enforce guardrails that let the workforce move fast safely; resolve the model-creep and shadow-AI risks before they become incidents.
- Partner with Legal, Security, Compliance, and IT/Enterprise Admin on provisioning, access, and defensible adoption at scale.
- Own the governance narrative to executives and the board-level technology governance rhythm.
Executive Championing & Enterprise Alignment - 20% - Be the face and lever of AI for Operators at the executive table; secure and sustain sponsorship, funding, and air cover.
- Own the boundaries between this capability and adjacent AI organizations, and keep the seams clean:
- Owns: horizontal, workforce-facing AI productivity; adoption & fluency; shared enterprise AI assets (skills/agents); governance for workforce AI use.
- Seams to (does not own): AI for Builders / Claude Code (Andrew Wagner); One Call Intelligence / decision models (Head of AI); Applied AI & the UOC (Strategic Engineering); contact-center AI (Genesys Copilot / KORE); legal AI (e.g., Harvey); the data platform (Snowflake Cortex).
- Represent the capability across P&T and the broader enterprise; align with HR/People, Operations, Finance, and IT.
Team Leadership - the Nucleus & CoE - 15% - Lead a small, high-leverage nucleus (Sr. Manager, AI Adoption & Enablement plus two differentiated individual contributors) on a DevOps-style cadence; hire, develop, and retain scarce AI talent.
- Run the Center of Excellence for the AI-for-Operators community of practice; make the nucleus the engine of enterprise upskilling, not a boutique automation shop.
- Set architecture, quality, and governance standards; hold the team to outcomes.
Portfolio & Value Realization - 10% - Own the automation/agent portfolio at the outcome level; sponsor, prioritize, and kill work based on realized value.
- Own executive reporting on adoption, fluency, and - above all - time-to-value and productivity impact.
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree in a related field (Business, Information Systems, Engineering) or equivalent experience.
- 12+ years in technology, digital-workplace, or transformation leadership, including enterprise-scale adoption and governance (thousands of users).
- Proven ownership of a P&L or comparable investment portfolio.
- Demonstrated experience building governance frameworks (tooling standards, adoption models, AI/data policy) in complex organizations.
- Executive-level communication and stakeholder management; credible owning strategy, investment, and risk with the C-suite.
- Track record standing up new capability - not just optimizing what already exists.
Strongly Preferred: - Healthcare, insurance, or other regulated-industry experience (HIPAA, SOC2 familiarity).
- Enterprise AI enablement / Copilot-style adoption strategy and governance experience.
- Experience standing up a Center of Excellence and a community of practice.
- Enterprise collaboration platform leadership (M365 or equivalent), EUC, or digital-workplace background.
- PE-backed, M&A, or turnaround environment experience.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: - Systems thinker - sees how tools, shared assets, adoption, governance, and organizational design interact to produce productivity outcomes.
- Governor, not operator - energized by standards, adoption, and scale; comfortable letting the nucleus execute inside the frame.
- Outcome-obsessed - measures success by time-to-value and productivity, treating usage as a floor, not a finish line.
- Executive presence and enterprise credibility - can win funding, hold boundaries, and be the champion the vision needs.
- Risk-balanced - pairs innovation speed with defensible governance in a PHI/PII environment.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity; creates clarity, structure, and boundaries without waiting for permission.
- Ability to work in an environment that aligns with the company's diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging standards.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Demonstrate our core values of Think Big, Go Fast, Deliver Awe, Win Together and Care Deeply.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT: - This position will be performed in the colleague s home. Work-from-home requirements include the colleague s ability to set up computer equipment within their home office. Occasional in-person team meetings may be required depending on the position.
- This job is primarily sedentary and may involve repetitive motions; the colleague must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time, operate a computer and other office equipment, assess information and files stored electronically, and converse/exchange accurate information with others, simultaneously.
- The colleague must be able to discern text displayed on a monitor, input data into specific fields using a keyboard, and adjust focus to distances of up to three feet.
- The colleague must have the ability to learn new tasks, follow established processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, complete multiple tasks simultaneously, communicate professionally with colleagues and customers, and complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity requirement.
- The colleague must be able to manage moderate to significant mental stress as a result of, but not limited to, a dynamic and heavy workload.
Please be advised that job descriptions typically change over time as business needs, job requirements, and employee skill levels change. As such, One Call retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position at any time.
