Full Job Description
CarTuned is a diecast brand built by real car people. We live in car culture - from JDM, Euro, Imports, muscle, classic, off-road vehicles, and lowriders - and we turn what's happening in the streets, trails, and at shows into collectible-scale art. We pride ourselves on being on-trend, authentic, and deeply connected to the culture that inspires us.

We're looking for a Senior Diecast Graphics Designer who doesn't just understand car culture - you live it. This role is responsible for designing the graphics that go directly onto our diecast vehicles. Every livery, logo, stripe, and micro-detail matters.

This is not a packaging role. This is not a marketing role. This is about the car itself.

The Role

As Senior Diecast Graphics Designer, you will own the creation and execution of all vehicle graphics across our product lines. You'll translate real-world car culture into production-ready artwork optimized for diecast manufacturing.

You understand scale. You understand print limitations. You understand how graphics wrap across complex 3D surfaces. And most importantly, you understand what makes a car feel right.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design authentic, culturally relevant graphics for diecast vehicles
  • Develop full liveries, decals, striping systems, badges, and micro-detail elements
  • Collaborate closely with product development and engineering to ensure feasibility and accuracy
  • Work within manufacturing constraints (color separations, print passes, tolerances, material limitations)
  • Render final design presentations using KeyShot for internal review and approvals
  • Maintain a high level of historical and cultural accuracy when referencing real-world builds
  • Help define and evolve the CarTuned visual language

What We're Looking For

Experience
  • 5+ years of professional graphic design experience
  • Demonstrated experience designing graphics specifically for diecast vehicles or similar small-scale manufactured products
  • Deep understanding of diecast print production processes (pad printing, paint masks, deco layers, etc.)
  • Experience working directly with overseas factories and understanding production limitations is a plus

Technical Skills
  • Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Illustrator (vector mastery is critical)
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop
  • Strong rendering skills in KeyShot - animation is a bonus
  • Ability to build clean, production-ready files with precise separations

Cultural Fit
  • Deeply immersed in car culture (JDM, Euro, motorsports, stance, muscle, tuner, off-road, lowrider, import, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of trends within automotive and street culture
  • High attention to detail - from badge placement to stripe thickness
  • Ability to balance authenticity with commercial viability
  • Self-driven, collaborative, and comfortable in a fast-moving brand environment

What Makes You Stand Out
  • You've designed deco schemes or graphics that have gone into production
  • You understand how graphics translate from 2D vector to 3D surface
  • You're obsessive about proportion and scale
  • You follow builds, events, and trends before they go mainstream

Why CarTuned
  • Work on product that lives at the intersection of design and car culture
  • Shape the visual identity of a growing diecast brand
  • Be part of a team that values authenticity over imitation
  • Create collectibles that enthusiasts actually want to own

Salary

$75,000 - $100,000 /year
