The LV Test and Validation team verifies the reliability, electrical performance, and compliance of low-voltage vehicle electronics. The team works with LVEE hardware design engineers and internal and external laboratories to produce decision-ready validation evidence. Its work spans component testing, test automation, failure investigation, and laboratory operations.
Role:As a Sr. Design Validation and Test Engineer, LV124 Electrical Stress, you will own LV124 electrical-stress validation for low-voltage electronic components and ECUs. Reporting to the Low-Voltage Test and Validation manager, you will work closely with design engineers and laboratory partners to complete DVP commitments on time. You will combine hands-on execution with disciplined analysis, documentation, and issue closure. Success in the first year means repeatable tests, complete evidence, and timely resolution of issues affecting current and future vehicle programs.
- LV124 Execution: Execute electrical-stress tests against approved plans and internal specifications, coordinating coverage and delivery with the LV Test and Validation team.
- Electrical Test Plans: Create test plans for E-fuses, voltage regulators, microcontroller power stages, and other ECU-level circuitry to demonstrate electrical performance.
- Bench Configuration: Configure and operate power supplies, oscilloscopes, current probes, electronic loads, and related laboratory equipment.
- DV/PV Evidence: Document test conditions, results, observations, and issues to produce complete design- and production-validation reporting.
- Measurement Review: Organize waveform data, plots, and test artifacts so engineers can assess performance and determine corrective actions.
- Lab and Schedule Ownership: Work with LVEE engineers to maintain coverage, meet DVP timing, and perform safe, disciplined, hands-on laboratory work.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 5-10 years of relevant experience, including at least 2-3 years of automotive electrical engineering experience.
- Understanding of automotive electrical systems and laboratory testing practices, with extensive experience using oscilloscopes, power supplies, and current measurement techniques.
- Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills for data organization, analysis, and report generation, plus experience with Confluence and JIRA.
- Excellent communication in technical and non-technical environments, an ownership mindset, and the ability to learn quickly and contribute to high-quality engineering products.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to work hands-on in a validation laboratory.
