Senior Automation Engineer | Robotics, PLC & Manufacturing Automation
Ready to take automation projects from concept to the manufacturing floor? VEKA is seeking an experienced Senior Automation Engineer to join our technical team in Fombell, PA. This role will design, improve, and support automated manufacturing systems across our North American operations.
What You'll Do
• Design robotics, automation equipment, and control systems
• Develop hardware and software for automated manufacturing equipment
• Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, robotics, drives, and industrial controls
• Maintain and improve existing automated machinery
• Identify automation opportunities that improve manufacturing processes
• Partner with maintenance and mechanical teams on equipment troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
• Develop ROI calculations for automation investments
• Support electrical schematics, control-panel layouts, system architecture, and I/O assignments
• Travel approximately 15% to VEKA North American locations
What We're Looking For
• PLC and HMI programming experience
• Siemens and Beckhoff controls experience
• Robotics experience, preferably Yaskawa and Universal Robots (UR)
• Strong knowledge of industrial controls, motors, drives, and AC/DC power
• Electrical design/CAD and control-panel design experience
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
• Associate degree in Industrial Controls or 5+ years of related industry experience
