Job DescriptionAs an Senior Advanced Systems Engineer here at Honeywell Aerospace Technologies, you will be part of a new Digital Transformation group within Honeywell Aerospace Electronic Solutions, helping advance the adoption of modern digital engineering methods across the organization. With your expertise in
Requirements Based Engineering (RBE) and
Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), you will support the specification development, design, modeling, and integration of aircraft systems.
In this role, you will work within a multidisciplinary team to define and mature digital transformation standards, processes, and best practices across Honeywell Aerospace Electronic Solutions. You will partner with individual Centers of Excellence (CoEs) to support the adoption and consistent application of these standards, helping engineering teams integrate Requirements Based Engineering (RBE), Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and digital engineering practices into their development processes.
You will provide hands-on technical guidance, help address adoption challenges, and promote common approaches that improve traceability, consistency, and scalability across engineering organizations.
This is a hands-on technical role focused on enabling rapid, traceable, and scalable system development through digital tools. You will collaborate closely with system leads, hardware, and test teams to capture system architecture, decompose requirements, and validate system behavior through modeling. As part of this newly formed Digital Transformation group, you will also have the opportunity to help shape how RBE, MBSE, and digital engineering practices are applied and scaled across Electronic Solutions.
Responsibilities- Digital Engineering Standards & Practices: Work within a multidisciplinary team to define, document, and mature digital transformation standards, processes, methods, and best practices for Requirements Based Engineering (RBE), Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and related digital engineering disciplines.
- Center of Excellence Enablement: Partner with individual Centers of Excellence (CoEs) to assist engineering teams in adopting and consistently applying digital transformation processes, standards, and tools within their product development environments.
- MBSE & RBE Technical Guidance: Provide hands-on technical guidance in the application of SysML, CAMEO, requirements management, system modeling, architecture development, requirements decomposition, and traceability. Help engineering teams translate common digital engineering standards into practical approaches appropriate for their programs.
- Process Adoption & Integration: Support CoEs and engineering teams as they integrate digital engineering practices into existing development lifecycles, including requirements, architecture, design, integration, verification, and validation activities. Identify adoption challenges and work collaboratively with stakeholders to develop scalable solutions.
- Digital Toolchain & Traceability: Promote effective use and integration of digital engineering tools such as CAMEO, DOORS NG, Jira, and related engineering platforms to improve information flow, requirements traceability, model consistency, and collaboration across engineering disciplines.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with systems, hardware, software, test, safety, and other engineering disciplines to establish common digital engineering approaches and support their implementation across diverse products and development teams.
- Continuous Improvement & Transformation: Evaluate existing engineering workflows, identify opportunities for increased consistency, traceability, automation, and reuse, and help evolve digital transformation practices based on lessons learned from CoE and program adoption.
QualificationsYOU MUST HAVE- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
- 5-8+ years of experience in systems engineering and MBSE roles
- Hands-on experience with CAMEO Systems Modeler and a strong understanding of SysML.
- Working knowledge of requirements tools (such as DOORS NG and Jira)
WE VALUE- Bachelor or master's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
- Experience modeling complex system architectures and interfaces.
- Familiarity with system engineering processes, V-model, and lifecycle traceability.
- Understanding of modular open systems architecture (MOSA) principles.
- Familiarity with ARP4754, ARP4761, MIL-STD-881, 882, and system safety frameworks.
- Exposure to airworthiness certification or flight test support.
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
