We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing Finance team. This role is responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, financial reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate has 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience, thrives in a fast-paced professional services environment, and enjoys improving processes while maintaining accurate financial records.
Key Responsibilities:
General Accounting
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Record revenue recognition, prepaid expenses, and other balance sheet activity.
- Support accounting activities across multiple legal entities.
Financial Reporting
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close.
- Prepare financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Compliance & Internal Controls
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies.
- Prepare audit schedules and coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors.
- Support internal controls, accounting procedures, and regulatory filings.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency.
- Document accounting procedures and participate in finance transformation initiatives.
- Collaborate with Finance Operations to improve automation, reporting, and data accuracy.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Revenue Operations, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and business leaders to support accurate financial reporting and operational excellence.
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- CPA designation preferred but not required.
Experience
- 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong experience with accrual accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close.
- Experience supporting external audits.
- Professional services, engineering, consulting, or project accounting experience preferred.
Technical Skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and Power Query.
- Experience with Bill.com, QuickBooks Desktop, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar ERP systems.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, project accounting, and revenue recognition.
- Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence/reporting tools is a plus.
