Position Summary

The Consumer Technology Association is seeking a dynamic Communications Specialist to elevate CTA's voice across the technology industry. This role supports strategic communications and media relations for CTA's Industry Communications initiatives, including CTA Membership, Market Research, Technology & Standards, and CES®-the world's most powerful technology event.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support communications for CTA member programs, councils, and working groups.
  • Promote CTA's Market Research and Technology & Standards through targeted communications campaigns. Translate complex technology and economic data into compelling stories for various audiences.
  • Support communications around CTA's priority policy initiatives, as needed.
  • Coordinate communications strategies across multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Build relationships with technology, business, trade and consumer media.
  • Draft press releases, media advisories, pitches, talking points, scripts, Q&As, and briefing materials.
  • Serve as a point of contact for CTA media inquiries. Coordinate interviews with CTA subject matter experts.
  • Coordinate media events, tours and roundtables (in person and virtual) on CTA and CES priorities.
  • Track media coverage and prepare reports measuring communications impact for CTA.
  • Support communications planning and media engagement for CES throughout the year.
  • Manage media tours program for CES and support the planning of media panels.
  • Serve as an official CES spokesperson, including conducting broadcast interviews during CES. Assist in planning and executing media events and onsite press operations.
  • Perform other communications, administrative and logistical duties as required by business

needs.

Qualifications

Work Experience:
  • 2-4 years of communications, public relations or media relations experience.
  • Experience with events, associations or technology companies preferred but not required.
  • PR agency or journalism experience also preferred.

Education/Training:
  • Bachelor's Degree (Communications, English or Journalism concentration preferred)

Skills/Capabilities/Technical:
  • Solid business and strategic communications writing skills.
  • Must be well-spoken, detail-oriented and customer service-focused.
  • Must be organized and can effectively manage multiple priorities and timelines simultaneously.
  • Understanding and experience using AI

Additional Information:
  • Travel to CES is required; may involve other occasional travel
  • This is an exempt position

Compensation & Benefits
CTA is committed to transparency and equitable pay practices. The anticipated salary range for this position is $80,000 - $90,000, with final compensation determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity. This role may be eligible for bonus or additional compensation, where applicable.
