Thepositionsupportssiteleadership throughthepreparation of reports,tracking of metrics(KPI), creation of meeting materials and execution of special projects as assigned. As such, Spellman High Voltage Electronics Corp. is seeking a talented, motivated, and creative, and EHS26S Specialist.
What You Will Do
- Facilitates the environmental, health, safety, and security regulation compliance for Hauppauge, Valhalla, and Brownsville locations.
- Coordinate the development and implementation of health and safety policies and procedures to minimize the risk of job-related injuries or accidents.
- Work with leaders from other functional areas to inspect the workplace to identify health and safety hazards and take actions to correct and prevent them.
- Educates employees on safe and healthy working conditions and behaviors to help prevent hazards in the workplace through risk analysis.
- Develops, implements, and oversees training programs for employees in areas such as compliance training, lab/plant inspection, hazardous material handling, emergency response, industrial hygiene, etc.
- Oversees licensed hazardous waste disposal and monitors waste handling.
- Investigates incidents and ensures all appropriate reports are prepared in a timely manner and maintained according to internal procedure and government regulations.
- Support emergency procedures implementation and ensure emergency teams are prepared for potential incidents.
- Ensures appropriate corrective action is taken where environmental, health, safety, and security hazards exist.
- Conduct ergonomic evaluations and EHS26S audits.
- Engage in collaborative solution creation and implementation with other employees.
- Updates manager monthly with EHS26S KPI27s and relevant metrics.
- Management of Spellman27s product environmental compliance reporting system.
What You Need
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a prior EHS role.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication, and presentation skills.
- Basic understanding of EHS regulations and standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Prior internship or part time experience in EHS26S in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Knowledge of ISO14001, ISO26000, ISO45001 standards.
- Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and local safety regulations.
Our good faith estimate of the salary range for this role is $78,000 - $103,000. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and other factors. In addition to base pay, we offer a full benefits package.
This position requires on-site presence at Spellman High Voltage headquarters in Hauppauge, NY.
