SALARY RANGE: $80,000 - $95,000 +

  • Actual base pay will depend and vary based on factors such as individual experience and skills of the applicant.

BONUS: Starting Bonus at Target $20,000

  • Variable Compensation opportunities are contingent on individual performance and overall business results, pursuant to the Bonus Plan; listed amount are targeted values and not guarantees.

LOCATION: Vancouver Office; 5 days/week in office.

 

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Category Specialist provides actionable insights and recommendations to support category management and strategic planning for our Beer and Beyond Beer portfolios. This role involves analyzing market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive data to drive growth and optimize category performance.  

  

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct macro and micro analysis of the alcohol market so as to ascertain consumer trends in the global brewing industry and also in each segment, in order to identify sales opportunities. 
  • Build business analyses on the impact of assortment, space management and macro trends , as well as recommendations that will encourage growth of the category (including Labattbrands). 
  • Present said analysis to internal and external parties to educate, drive adherence and drive category growth 
  • Create planograms based on category analysis and on objectives of profitability, trend, dos and aesthetics.  
  • Collaborate on developing new marketing tools for major accounts and the sales team. 
  • Analyze retail and market level data to recommend category assortment in store 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post secondary education  
  • Skilled in analysis and observation focused on consumer behaviour. 
  • Ability to plan and prioritize routine and ad hoc tasks in order to reach established objectives. 
  • Mastery of Windows environment and Microsoft Office software (Excel, PowerPoint). 
  • Practical experience in complex data bank processing an asset (Access, SpacePlanning (JDA), PBI). 
  • Excellent communication skills; must speak and write well in English. 
  • Independent and dynamic, with good people skills. 
  • Experience with working with JDA planogramming suite
