Full Job Description
Boston Speech Therapy is seeking a compassionate and skilled Special Education Teacher for a school in Mansfield, CT. This short-term contract runs from February through June and serves 7th and 8th-grade students with behavioral populations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement IEPs for students
- Provide specialized instruction in foundational skills to students with varying abilities
- Conduct ongoing assessments to evaluate student progress
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to enhance the learning experience
- Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress and strategies for support
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field; Master's degree preferred
- Must have a CT special educator's license
- No prior experience required
- Strong knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Commitment to the growth and success of all students
