This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin's Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.

This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, focusing on the Transfer Stage product line. We are building sustainable infrastructure for transporting crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface to advance our mission.

As a project engineer, you will share in the team's impact on all aspects of spacecraft integration by collaborating with cross-disciplinary engineers, technicians, customers, Blue Origin teammates, Lunar Lander National Team partners, and facility operators across the USA. You will support overall subsystem execution as team moves into design release, starts build, and delivers finished spacecraft to the launch pad. This individual will be required to support design release planning and organization, supply chain integration, and collaboration across all subsystems to inform decision making for design trades in order to support overall timely build and program execution.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Support design release planning and organization, supply chain integration, and collaboration across all vehicle subsystems to inform decision making for design trades to support overall timely build execution
  • Act as the voice of the program for Transfer Stage in discussions with supply chain to help get parts delivered, develop sourcing strategies, maneuver around or through barriers, and mitigate shortages to support build schedule and meet customer deadlines
  • Act as a bridge between engineering and operations by owning program demand integration through MRP demand, owning BOM metrics, addressing demand signals with material planning / supply chain and engineering, and maintaining S&OP demand
  • Support design release by reviewing requirements to streamline program strategic execution while achieving mission success
  • Track and manage engineering release dates to support production readiness and reduce execution risk
  • Develop engineering-driven procurement packages, provide technical guidance for vendor/supplier selection, and maintain insight for key suppliers and critical hardware
  • Write technical proposals, statements of work, and key decision tickets as needed to support program execution
  • Interface with NASA customer to provide schedule, insight, and customer deliverables related to supply chain efforts
  • Identify, manage, address, and close key risks and opportunities
  • Manage key program metrics (and associated reporting tools) in areas such as: Budget, engineering schedules, equipment schedules, procurement schedules, production schedules, program management status reports, and resource plans


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or STEM field to include systems engineering, aerospace engineering, computer science, applied mathematics, statistics, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering
  • 2+ years of project engineering or project manager experience
  • 2+ years interfacing with supply chain
  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills with ability to translate complex information into actionable insights
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office suite of software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with collaboration tools like Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, etc.
  • Self-starter, strong bias for action
  • Ability to lead cross functional and multi-disciplinary teams to drive program execution
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated history of technical project management applied to multi-disciplinary engineered systems (schedules, critical path, change management, and after-action reporting on hardware)
  • Experience with MS Project, P6 or similar planning tool.
  • Exceptional with Excel and manual data analysis
  • Experience with launch vehicle, spacecraft, or satellite development, production, or operations
  • Experience driving a product from concept development into production
  • Experience with systems engineering concepts and requirements management
  • Experience with human spaceflight requirements
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Experience with CREO, Windchill, Confluence, Jira, Tableau, SQL, MySQL, Power Query, Power Pivot
  • Experience with material requirements planning systems (Deltek Costpoint, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, ...)
  • Experience with verification, integration, and test of launch vehicles, satellites, spacecraft, or other complex systems
  • Ability to use AI tools to automate work, create visualizations, improve decision making, reduce administrative burden, and increase overall efficiency


Base Pay Range for:
CO applicants is $110,938.00 - $155,312.85WA applicants is $121,023.00 - $169,432.20
