À quoi ressemblera votre quotidien?
  • Vous serez responsable de planifier, préparer et exécuter l'ensemble des activités d'instrumentation afin de respecter les étapes clés d'une campagne d'essais en vol sur un moteur expérimental.
  • Vous concevrez, installerez, calibrerez, configurerez, opérerez et assurerez la maintenance des systèmes d'acquisition de données embarqués.
  • Vous produirez les dessins nécessaires à la fabrication des faisceaux de câbles.
  • Vous rédigerez les instructions de travail pour l'installation et le retrait des équipements d'instrumentation embarqués.
  • Vous conditionnerez, surveillerez et enregistrerez les données en vol et au sol.
  • Vous effectuerez le dépannage des problèmes liés à l'instrumentation.
  • Vous veillerez à la qualité et à l'efficacité des données recueillies.
  • Vous participerez aux briefings avant et après les vols.

Qualifications requises
  • Baccalauréat en ingénierie ou diplôme d'études collégiales (DEC) avec 5 années d'expérience dans un domaine connexe à l'instrumentation.
  • Connaissance des principaux types d'instrumentation, des capteurs, des types de conditionnement des signaux, des principes électroniques ainsi que des procédures d'étalonnage.
  • Maîtrise de la suite Microsoft Office.
  • Leadership, autonomie, passion et sens des responsabilités.
  • Capacité démontrée à travailler efficacement en équipe, à performer sous pression et à s'adapter au changement.
  • Capacité à innover et à remettre en question le statu quo au sein de l'unité d'affaires.
  • Ce poste s'inscrit dans un milieu de travail francophone, néanmoins il nécessite une très bonne connaissance de l'anglais pour lire et comprendre, sur une base quotidienne, de la documentation et des termes techniques qui peuvent émaner d'organisations internationales, ainsi que pour écrire et communiquer en anglais avec des clients, des fournisseurs ou des collègues internationaux.

  • Des déplacements professionnels occasionnels peuvent être requis.
  • Horaire de travail de jour et de soir en rotation (1 semaine toutes les 6 semaines).

  • Horaire typique des journées d'essais en vol : 7 h à 18 h.

Job Title:Flight Test & Instrumentation Specialist

This is a full-time position from Monday to Friday with flexible hours, based in Mirabel, and performed exclusively on-site.

What will your day-to-day look like?
  • You are responsible for planning, preparing, and executing all instrumentation activities pertaining to meet key milestones for a flight test campaign of an experimental engine.
  • You design, install, calibrate, configure, operate and maintain airborne Data Acquisition Systems
  • You generate drawings to produce harnesses
  • You write work instructions for the installation/removal of onboard instrumentation equipment
  • You condition, monitor and record data in flight and on the ground
  • You troubleshoot instrumentation issues
  • You ensure data quality and efficiency
  • You participate in the pre/post-flight briefings.
  • You take initiatives for continuous improvements in the business


What do you need to be successful?

Must have
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technical college degree with 5 years' experience in a related field of Instrumentation
  • Knowledge of standard instrumentation types, sensors, signal conditioning types, electronic principles as well as calibration procedures
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Leadership, autonomy, passion and a sense of responsibility
  • Demonstrated abilities to work well in a team, perform under pressure and adapt to change
  • Ability to innovate and change status quo in the business unit
  • This position is part of a French-speaking work environment, it requires a very good knowledge of English to read and understand, on a daily basis, documentation and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.


Asset
  • Experience and knowledge of flight testing or testing of aeronautical products.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Data Acquisition Systems and engine control systems
  • Comfortable using computers and ability to operate, learn and adapt to multiple softwares
  • Knowledge and understanding of programmable logic controllers (PLC)


Preferred fields of Education
  • College degree in Instrumentation or Electronic or;
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automatization, Physics, Aerospace engineering or other applicable scientific discipline


Additional informations
  • May travel occasionally for business.
  • Work schedule on day shift and evening shift in rotations (1 week / 6 weeks)
  • Work schedule on weekend (Saturday) in rotations (1 Saturday / 6 week ends)
  • Typical Flight test days: 7am to 6pm
  • Must pass a medical exam and obtain a High-Altitude Indoctrination (HAI) certificate
