What Is The Opportunity?

Aecon Nuclear has been awarded contracts with Ontario Power Generation to support the Pickering Refurbishment major projects and Darlington New Nuclear Project (DNNP).

The Source Assurance Manager will report directly to the Quality Director and is responsible for setting up the supplier source surveillance and inspection organization to support various project teams in close cooperation with Procurement and project management. The role will also be responsible for the supervision and management of the Audit Team and ensures all completed audit documentation satisfies Code, Customer and Quality Program requirements

  • Establishes the overall nuclear and conventional graded quality strategies, objectives, and long-term goals of an integrated Source Assurance function
  • Champion and promote a culture of nuclear safety and quality within the project teams and disciplines
  • Maintains strong supplier relationships and acts as a liaison with suppliers to understand and improve Company Quality performance partnerships and understands direction of customer quality strategy
  • Ensures Quality Assurance processes are effectively deployed including supplier corrective action and investigations
  • Responsible for definition of Supply Chain Quality and strategic engagement for supplier partnerships on delivery and quality performance
  • Support the procurement and project management compliance strategies and processes and ensure effective implementation of the processes
  • Ensure and verify that all Lead Auditors and Auditors have maintained competencies and capabilities to adequately perform the assigned audits and maintain Auditor and Subcontracted Auditor records
  • Preparation and maintenance of Annual Audit Schedule and review/approval of audit documentation
  • Maintains and up to date list of accepted Suppliers on the Approved Suppliers List (ASL)
  • Assign audit tasks, monitor work performance, provide feedback and direction as necessary to the Audit Team
  • Support Supplier Performance Assessments to identify Supplier quality issues or negative trends
  • Promote effective teamwork within the Audit Team
  • Supervision and coordination of all in house and 3rd Party Quality Assurance Source Surveillance personnel assigned to the various major projects
  • Supervision and management of the Audit Team


What You Bring To The Team
  • Be a champion of inclusion and diversity.
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in a Quality/Manufacturing leadership/management role.
  • Experience in Nuclear procurement and PO flow down requirements
  • Expertise in Quality Assurance Programs and processes
  • Expertise in manufacturing and project quality and delivery environment
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Physical Science, or related field.
  • Holds or has previously held ASME NQA-1 Lead Auditor certification
  • Experience in working with a stakeholder group including client, suppliers, alliance partners, and employees
  • Continuous improvement and the use of process improvement methodologies
  • Understands design and manufacturing.
  • Good understanding of nuclear/non-nuclear quality standards and codes ie. CSA N286, CSA N299, CSA N285, CSA B51, ASME Sections I, III, V, VIII, IX, and B31.1, ISO 9001:2015


Reason for vacancy: Replacement

Salary range: $115,000 - $150,000

Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
