MissionAs a Solutions Engineer, you will deliver fast, reliable, API-driven integrations for mid-market customers by translating business workflows into scalable, repeatable technical solutions. You will partner closely with Sales and Customer Success to deliver best-in-class integration experiences that drive adoption and long-term success. This role is primarily customer-facing, with a strong focus on solution design and customer outcomes rather than traditional software development. You'll build integrations primarily with low-code tools, using light scripting where needed.
What You'll Do- Design, build, and deliver integrations between Choco and customer systems using low-code tools (e.g. n8n and Tray.ai).
- Own integration projects end-to-end from discovery to go-live and ongoing improvement.
- Partner with Account Executives in pre-sales by leading technical discovery, proofs of concept, and integration scoping.
- Troubleshoot and maintain integrations to ensure reliability and performance, and document integration designs for clean handoffs to Customer Success.
- Collaborate closely with Customer Success, Implementation, and Product teams, sharing customer feedback to help shape the product roadmap.
- Share best practices and contribute to scaling integration delivery globally.
What You Bring- 2+ years of experience in solutions engineering, IT/ERP consulting, or systems integration.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience managing end-to-end API integrations, including requirements gathering, solution design, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing support across multiple customer environments.
- Experience with low-code or automation tools such as n8n, Zapier, and Tray.ai.
- Basic programming knowledge (e.g. JavaScript or Python) and working knowledge of REST APIs, JSON/XML, webhooks, authentication (OAuth, API keys), and data mapping.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a collaborative, solution-focused mindset.
- Excellent communicator with the ability to make complex ideas clear and simple.
- This position requires in-office attendance 3 days per week (T/W/Th) in our Chicago office.
Nice to Have- Experience with the ERP or ordering systems common among food and beverage distributors.
- Background in food distribution, supply chain, or B2B SaaS.
- Familiarity with EDI, SFTP/flat-file integrations, or basic SQL.
- Comfort using AI tools to speed up discovery, documentation, and integration builds.
What you get- Work on digitalizing core operating systems for food distributors, automating orders, sales and payments in a system that still largely runs on calls and spreadsheets.
- Work with an AI product with proven product-market fit, already embedded in distributor workflows and directly affecting order accuracy, speed, and margins.
- Join a global team across 6 countries and 40+ nationalities, building a company that has raised $300M+ and reached unicorn status (~$1.2B valuation) with the ambition to define this category end-to-end.
- In return, you get real ownership, equity, and the support to do your best work, including competitive compensation, health and wellbeing support, and long-term benefits like a sabbatical (all localized by office).
- Collaborate with people who want to own outcomes in a messy, real-world system and make it work at scale.
If you want to work on real problems, take ownership, and raise the bar, we should talk.
