Position OverviewWe are seeking Software Test / Integration Engineers in Huntsville AL. These positions support software and system-level integration, automated testing, requirements verification, test execution, and post-test analysis for complex missile defense systems.
Successful candidates will have experience working throughout the software development lifecycle and supporting requirements-driven software integration and test activities. Depending on the specific requisition and level, candidates may bring experience in Python and C++ development, software test automation, requirements management, system integration, and Agile development environments.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and execute software test plans, integration plans, test procedures, and automated test solutions.
- Perform software and system-level integration and testing.
- Interpret system/software requirements and test guidance to develop appropriate test approaches and acceptance criteria.
- Develop scripts and automated solutions to support test execution, data collection, and analysis.
- Perform post-test analysis, troubleshooting, and investigation of software and system behavior.
- Support requirements decomposition, management, traceability, verification, and validation activities.
- Participate throughout the software development lifecycle, including requirements, development, integration, testing, and deployment.
- Develop and/or utilize software in languages such as Python and C++ to support integration and test activities.
- Collaborate across software, systems engineering, test, and other product teams to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Work within Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Utilize CI/CD, configuration management, requirements management, and collaboration tools to support development and test activities.
Required QualificationsT3- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of related experience, Master's degree with 3 years, or PhD with 1 year of related experience.
T4- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 8 years of related experience, Master's degree with 6 years, or PhD with 4 years of related experience.
Candidates should possess experience in several of the following areas, depending on the specific assignment:
- Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements, development, integration, testing, and deployment.
- Software and/or system integration and testing.
- Software test automation and scripting.
- Python development or comparable scripting experience.
- C++ software development.
- Development and execution of test plans, integration plans, and test procedures.
- Requirements-driven software testing and verification.
- Requirements management and traceability using tools such as DOORS.
- Post-test analysis and troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
- Experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, Fisheye, Crucible, and/or Jenkins.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of an integrated product team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Current active Secret clearance or higher.
- Ability to support an on-site work environment in Huntsville, AL.
Preferred Qualifications- Strong professional experience developing automation and test solutions using Python.
- C++ software development experience.
- Software development experience specifically supporting test automation.
- Experience with Elasticsearch.
- Experience with Jenkins, Bitbucket, and other Atlassian/CI-CD tools.
- Experience with DOORS and formal requirements management processes.
- Experience with requirements decomposition, management, traceability, and verification.
- Understanding of requirement verification methods and requirements-based testing.
- Experience working within a systems engineering V-model development environment.
- Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical degree.
- Experience developing technical solutions across multiple product teams and engineering disciplines.
- Agile/Scrum experience, including experience as a Scrum Master or Product Owner.
- Security+ certification.
