About the team
AWS Elastic Beanstalk is the application management service on AWS. Customers bring their applications as source code, a Dockerfile or a container image. Beanstalk provisions the infrastructure and takes on the operational work for the life of the application: scaling, patching, health monitoring, compliance and platform upgrades. Our customers include startups shipping their first app, enterprises moving older .NET and Java workloads off on-premises servers, SaaS providers running thousands of tenant environments, and regulated industries with HIPAA, PCI and FedRAMP requirements.
We're in a period of major growth. Alongside our Standard Mode on Amazon EC2, we recently launched Cluster Mode. It's powered by Amazon EKS and runs many containerized applications on shared, fully managed infrastructure. It can containerize source code automatically with Cloud Native Buildpacks and comes with built-in OpenTelemetry observability. Both modes use the same console, CLI and API. This changes how customers run whole portfolios of applications on AWS, and there's a lot left to build.
As a Software Development Manager, you'll lead engineers who own large-scale distributed systems that run production workloads in every commercial AWS Region, including AWS GovCloud (US). We work closely with the Amazon EC2, Amazon EKS, Elastic Load Balancing, Amazon RDS and AWS security teams to deliver an integrated experience. Our team has a wide mix of experience levels and tenures. We value innovation, operational excellence and knowledge-sharing, and we grow engineers through one-on-one mentorship, thorough code reviews and real ownership of the systems they build.
