DescriptionAs a Software Engineer on the Sightline team at Verily, you will design, build, and scale data-driven health platforms and longitudinal research registries to bridge research and care. You will collaborate cross-functionally to deliver personalized, data-driven patient experiences and core program architecture.
Responsibilities- Ship Scalable Features: Design, build, and test high-quality components powering Verily's data-driven health platforms.
- Optimize System Reliability: Diagnose and eliminate complex software defects, prioritizing root-cause fixes over temporary patches.
- Own Project Delivery: Drive features autonomously from concept to execution, creating structured development plans and timelines.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner across engineering and product teams to define requirements and architect innovative solutions.
- Scale Your Impact: Master ambiguous problem spaces, generating technical ideas that expand your scope beyond just writing code.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience in software development.
- 3+ years of experience as a software developer in an industry setting.
- 2+ years of experience with React.
- Expertise in building software and systems on any of: GCP, AWS or Azure (GCP preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience with Go, TypeScript, and/or SQL.
- Experience with designing and implementing scalable data processing pipelines with BigQuery or other analytics-oriented databases.
- Education or exposure to healthcare or life sciences, with emphasis on HL7 FHIR.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $128,000- $192,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
