ResponsibilitiesPeraton is hiring a Software Engineer, Systems in Huntsville, AL. This role will be full time onsite. Peraton has a great opportunity to support the Aircraft Survivability Equipment (ASE) program as a systems-software engineer. Working to help the military with missile detection and evade technology. This role works across several high visibility programs at ASE supporting the software team as a system/software SME.
What you'll do:
- Provide software knowledge and support for all ASE products (e.g., requirements, interfaces, development, architecture, test, and sustainment)
- Provide briefings of software development status
- Provide feedback related to system interfaces and external systems interoperability
- Work with and facilitate Agile SW planning with vendors
- Review vendor software CDRLs and artifacts (e.g., Software Development Plan, requirements, design documents, and test plans)
- Support design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) as a SW SME for the ASE engineering team
- Test and verify interoperability between systems
- Provide feedback on system software requirements
- Work with vendors to understand capabilities and performance requirements
- Analyze user needs and limitations to determine a feasible solution
- Provide assessment of software impacts to system use and installation
- Provide overarching support for the software and product teams
- Support software growth efforts (FACE, MOSA, MBSE)
Qualifications
What you'll need:
- Education: Minimum of 7 years with AS/AA; 5 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 3 years with MS/MA
- Clearance: Active Secret DoD Clearance
- Complete understanding of SW Development Life Cycle
- Ability to read and understand technical documents and drawings
- Ability to balance multiple tasks and priorities
- Understanding of system software interfaces, requirements, and interoperation with other systems
- Experience with embedded programing languages
- Fluency in the Microsoft Office toolset
- Knowledge of Agile SW development methodology
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working in a DoD acquisition project management office
- Software or systems design for DoD systems experience
Target Salary Range$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
