Responsibilities- Own the Full Lifecycle: Design, implement, test, and deploy robust software solutions, ensuring exceptional system performance, security, and scalability.
- Drive Technical Direction: Influence the architecture and strategy of one or more core systems, making informed technical trade-offs that align with Verily's broader business goals.
- Execute Independently: Lead feature development from concept to production with minimal supervision, setting clear milestones and managing project timelines effectively.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with product managers, designers, and peer engineers to translate complex health-tech requirements into seamless user experiences.
- Solve Complex Problems: Take ownership of difficult technical challenges, leveraging continuous learning to introduce innovative tools, patterns, and methodologies to the team.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience in software development.
- 3+ years experience as a software developer in an industry setting.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively.
- Expertise in building software and systems on any of: GCP, AWS or Azure (GCP preferred).
- Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Java, C/C++, C#, Objective-C, Go, Python, or JavaScript.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience with Go, Java, Python, and/or SQL.
- Proficiency in Apache Beam and its associated technologies for data ingestion and processing.
- Solid understanding of ETL principles and best practices.
- Experience with designing and implementing scalable data processing pipelines with Bioquery or other analytics-oriented databases.
- Education or exposure to healthcare or life sciences, with emphasis on HL7 FHIR.

Compensation InformationThe US base salary range for this full-time position is $128,000 - 192,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
