About The Role & TeamThe Agent Analytics team builds the systems that help customers understand and improve their AI agents. We turn agent traces, conversations, and evaluation results into useful insights, and connect that activity with the broader product experience. Our backend services and data infrastructure make this information reliable, easy to explore, and fast to query.
As a Software Engineer I on the Agent Analytics team, you'll help build the foundation of a growing AI analytics product. You'll start with well-scoped backend and data pipeline features, pair with experienced engineers, and take on more ownership as you grow. Your work could include processing agent traces, building APIs for session exploration and data export, or improving the speed and reliability of our analytics systems. You'll learn how engineering decisions affect the experience customers have with the product.
You'll work with technologies such as TypeScript, Python, PostgreSQL, and ClickHouse, and learn how APIs, analytical queries, and asynchronous processing fit together in production. We value strong programming fundamentals and curiosity, and will help you build expertise in our stack and the evolving world of AI agents.
Responsibilities- Build and ship backend features and APIs for exploring agent sessions, traces, and evaluation results, with guidance from experienced engineers
- Contribute to data pipelines that ingest, enrich, synchronize, and export agent data, including tests and validation that keep the data accurate
- Investigate slow queries and pipeline issues, and help improve data freshness, processing throughput, and the responsiveness of customer-facing features
- Write maintainable code and automated tests, participate in code reviews, and use logs and metrics to debug services and make background jobs more reliable
- Work with Engineering, Product, and Design to understand customer needs and deliver well-scoped improvements from implementation through rollout, with mentorship along the way
Skills and Experience- B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science or another related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- 0-2 years of professional software engineering experience, including internships
- Comfortable programming in at least one language such as TypeScript, Python, Java, or a similar language, through coursework, projects, internships, or professional experience
- Solid foundation in programming fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms
- Curious about how AI agents work and how their behavior can be measured; eager to learn backend systems, data pipelines, and analytical databases, and to ask questions and incorporate feedback
- Exposure to SQL, backend APIs, cloud infrastructure, or data pipelines is a plus. Projects involving AI agents, LLM applications, tracing, or evaluations are also welcome
