Role SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Software Developer to join a collaborative Agile development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting software solutions while working closely with developers, QA engineers, security specialists, and architects. This role requires strong development experience in C, C++, Java, and Python, along with experience working with secure software solutions, test automation, and AI-assisted development tools.
Key Responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain software components using C, C++, Java, Python, and Bash.
- Participate in requirements analysis, design discussions, sprint planning, and effort estimation activities.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Integrate and support networking and cryptographic libraries within software applications.
- Develop and maintain unit tests and support test automation initiatives.
- Collaborate with QA teams to define and implement Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) test scenarios.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues identified during testing or production support activities.
- Work with security teams to apply secure development practices and address vulnerabilities.
- Maintain technical documentation and contribute to feature documentation.
- Track progress and provide regular status updates using Agile tools such as Jira.
- Utilize AI-based tools and practices to support software design, implementation, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation.
Required Skills and Experience - Minimum 4 years of software development experience using C, C++, Java, and/or Python.
- Minimum 4 years of experience working with cryptographic libraries, security services, or security-focused software development.
- Minimum 4 years of experience developing software within quality-driven and security-conscious environments.
- Experience defining and implementing unit tests.
- Knowledge of Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) and test automation practices.
- Minimum 4 years of experience working in Agile environments, including Scrum and/or SAFe.
- Minimum 1 year of experience using AI tools to support software development, testing, troubleshooting, debugging, or documentation.
- Experience working in Linux, Unix, and/or Windows environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with automated testing frameworks.
- Experience working with networking technologies and secure communications.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience using Jira or similar Agile project management tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Location and Work Arrangement - Location: Ottawa, Ontario
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid
- Successful candidate will be required to work from the client's Ottawa office 3 days per week, with the remaining days worked remotely.
The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is : $62,874 - $147,504 CAD.

In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
