Minimum Qualifications:- 1+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications:What you will do- Design, build, test, and ship high-quality Android experiences for Venmo Commerce.
- Develop modern, reusable UI using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose within Venmo's mobile architecture.
- Own features end to end, from technical design and implementation through experimentation, launch, observability, and iteration.
- Integrate mobile experiences with backend APIs, payments infrastructure, identity, risk, search, recommendations, analytics, and other platform capabilities.
- Build experiences that are performant, resilient, accessible, secure, and intuitive across a broad range of Android devices.
- Instrument product funnels and experiments, use data to understand customer behavior, and partner with Product and Data Science to improve outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with iOS engineers to deliver coherent cross-platform experiences while applying Android-native patterns and best practices.
- Participate in architecture and technical design reviews, contribute to code reviews, and raise the engineering quality bar across the team.
- Debug and resolve production issues and contribute to the operational health of commerce experiences.
What you will bring- Experience building production Android apps in Kotlin.
- Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, and Flow used in production, not just in a side project.
- Solid architecture fundamentals: MVVM or MVI, multi module Gradle, dependency injection with Hilt.
- REST or GraphQL integration with Retrofit and OkHttp, plus sensible caching and offline handling.
- Testing as a habit: JUnit, MockK, Compose UI tests.
- Clear written communication and a bias toward owning a feature end to end.
Nice to havePayments or fintech background, PCI DSS awareness, Android Keystore and biometric auth, feature flags and experimentation, accessibility, marketplace or ecommerce product work.

The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring. The expected range of pay for this role by location is:
Primary Location | Pay Range:San Jose, California: ($116,500.00 - $173,250.00 Annually)
Additional Location(s) | Pay Range:Austin, Texas: ($106,000.00 - $157,300.00 Annually)
Additional compensation for this role may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable.
