Job Description Summary
Dauch is looking for a Software Engineer to join our team in Newton, NC.

The Software Engineer will design and develop applications and systems. They will also perform business analysis and software analysis. This individual may coordinate projects and perform system maintenance activities.

Job Description:
  • Contributes to development of existing and new applications by analyzing and identifying areas for modification and improvement. Contributes to development of new applications to meet customer requirements.
  • Monitors and identifies software defects and suggests corrections for approval to maintain fully functioning applications software.
  • Discusses and recommends technical developments to improve the quality of the software and supporting infrastructure to better meet users' needs.
  • Provides fault isolation and resolution for complex challenges to limit and address issues promptly.
  • Produces accurate reports for others by collecting data from a variety of standard sources and inputting it into standard formats.
  • Documents "as is" and "to be" processes and describes the changes required to migrate to the "to be" capability to record accurately the change required.
  • Implements improvements and provides feedback on them. Uses change management systems and protocols to provide routine support services.
  • Interprets data and identifies possible answers. Involves navigating a wide variety of processes, procedures, and precedents.
  • Contributes to the design of engineering solutions; designs the feasibility testing approach and supervise its implementation to support the development and validation of engineering solutions.
  • Contributes to reviewing existing operations in own area of work and supports in generating new ideas to assist in identifying continuous improvements.
  • Carries out a range of product development and engineering activities. Uses established systems to analyze customer needs and define and deliver products.
  • Contributes to the management of risks and issues by maintaining and distributing project and program risk registers and issue logs.
  • All other duties as assigned.


Required Skills and Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or other related field.
  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience in Manufacturing or similar environment.
  • Experience with CAN bus communication.
