- Technical Ownership & System Design: Take full ownership of strategic projects, building scalable, low-latency products and services while designing fault-tolerant distributed systems across teams

A day in the life
You9ll spend time designing scalable solutions for complex projects, writing clean code with AWS services, and reviewing pull requests from teammates. You9ll collaborate with product managers to turn business needs into technical designs, mentor junior engineers through challenging problems, and make architectural decisions that impact multiple systems. Beyond the typical coding and reviews, you might find yourself leading technical discussions, driving best practices across teams, or diving deep into performance optimizations. The role keeps you engaged with both hands-on development and strategic technical leadership that shapes how your team builds and operates software.
About the team
You9ll join the EDM (Engagement and Deal Merchandising) team which owns the front-end platform and backend services that power deals on Woot!, the original daily deals site. We build responsive, locally-testable services with simplified architecture, rigorous logging, and high observability. Our stack spans customer-facing web experiences and the systems that create, manage, and merchandize deals at scale. We value clean code, low tech debt, and fast debugging. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Bachelor9s degree in computer science or equivalent
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience building web applications with React and modern web technologies
- Experience with AWS Services including EC2, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, SQS
- Prior experience building consumer-facing products at scale
The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
