Job Title: Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)
Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to design, develop, and maintain automated testing solutions. The SDET will work closely with developers, QA engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of software applications.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks.
Create and execute functional, regression, integration, API, and end-to-end tests.
Analyze requirements and create comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.
Identify, document, track, and verify software defects.
Develop automated tests using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or Appium.
Perform API testing using Postman, REST Assured, or similar tools.
Validate application data using SQL and databases.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
Investigate test failures and perform root-cause analysis.
Collaborate with developers to improve application quality and testability.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to automation framework improvements.
Maintain test documentation, reports, and automation standards.
Continuously identify opportunities to improve testing processes and reduce manual effort.
Required Skills
Strong programming knowledge in Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or C#.
Good understanding of SDLC and STLC.
Hands-on experience with automation testing frameworks.
Experience with API testing and REST services.
Strong knowledge of SQL and database testing.
Experience with Git/version control.
Understanding of CI/CD and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Good debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills
Experience with Docker and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Performance testing experience with JMeter or similar tools.
Experience building automation frameworks from scratch.
Knowledge of microservices and distributed systems.
Experience with test reporting and quality metrics.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Typically 2-5+ years of experience in software testing/automation, depending on the level of the position.
Strong hands-on coding and automation experience.
