Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Software Developer for the LASSO II contract, onsite at the Kennedy Space Center in Merritt Island, FL. This fulltime position develops and maintains web based software in support of the LASSO laboratories.
The ideal candidate is detailed orientated and analyzes and develops computer programs and systems. They will review users requests for new or modified computer programs to determine feasibility, cost and time required, compatibility with current system, and computer capabilities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline
- 5 years of related experience
- Experience in C# and Visual Studio, .NET Framework, CSS & JavaScript, TSQL & MS SQL Server
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Excellent communication, presentation and customer interface skills required.
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively in a team environment.
- Must be able to coordinate work between multiple projects or tasks.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects without missing deadlines or sacrificing accuracy.
- Must be self-motivated, demonstrate initiative, and be able to work independently or with minimal supervision after initial training.
- Competent in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience with Laboratory Management Software (LIMS, eLIMS solutions) application administration
- SQL Database management skills
- SharePoint site management and administration
- Experience working with Maximo backends, interfaces or databases
- Familiarity with SQL Server Integration Services
- Familiarity with PowerBI
- Familiarity with older versions of .NET Framework and .NET Core
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Configures plan outlining steps required to develop program, using structured analysis and design.
- Plans, develops, tests, and documents computer programs, applying knowledge of programming techniques and computer systems.
- Submits plans to user for approval.
- Prepares flowcharts and diagrams to illustrate sequence of steps program must follow and to describe logical operations involved.
- Consults with user to identify current operating procedures and clarify program objectives.
- Supports operation and administration of in house developed web applications and also COTS applications and interfaces between the two, including troubleshooting application functionality and application issues.
- Develop complex data queries and develop SQL scripts to clean, transform, validate, migrate, and transfer data while maintaining referential integrity and established business rules.
