DescriptionNorthrop Grumman's Space Systems Sector is seeking a Software Deputy Subproject Technical Lead - Level 3/4 to join our team. This position is located in Redondo Beach, CA.
As the Software Deputy Subproject Technical Leadyou will oversee one of our ground systems software (SW) homerooms. You will be joining a large team comprising of multiple software homerooms, that all decompose into separate swim lane teams with a specialized software focus. Each team directly contributes to mission-critical and operational SW product lines, as well as the development of new ground systems capabilities as coordinated with the Customer. You will report directly to, and work with, the Subproject Manager to support a team of 18 to 30 SW engineers. You will be responsible for the team tasking and support of management meetings and reviews. You will coordinate and interface with the other SW teams, Systems Engineering, external customers, and site personnel. You will gather team metrics and provide outbriefs of team progress to higher leadership. You will work in a dynamic team environment, ensuring personnel follow well-defined processes.
Basic Qualifications Software Deputy Subproject Technical Lead - Level 3:
- Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant experience; Master's degree with 3 years of relevant experience; PhD with 1 year of relevant experience; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- Must have an active SCI at time of application or an active TS clearance at time of application with the ability to obtain SCI within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company prior to start date
- Experience leading a team of engineers
- Proficiency managing SW processes, adjudicating SW Discrepancy Reports (DRs) and fulfilling requirements for success
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal communications skills, with the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
Basic Qualifications Software Deputy Subproject Technical Lead - Level 4:
- Bachelor's degree with 8 years of relevant experience; Master's degree with 6 years of relevant experience; PhD with 4 years of relevant experience; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- Must have an active SCI at time of application or an active TS clearance at time of application with the ability to obtain SCI within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company prior to start date
- Experience leading a team of engineers
- Proficiency managing SW processes, adjudicating SW Discrepancy Reports (DRs) and fulfilling requirements for success
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal communications skills, with the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
Preferred Qualifications:
- STEM degree
- Experience working with internal and external customers
- Previous experience with Atlassian tools (e.g. Jira, BitBucket, Confluence), DevOps pipeline development, and Automation
- Agile/DevOps experience with Scrum Master and Product Ownership experience highly desirable
- Previous in-depth domain knowledge of software design and code development preferred
- Previous management experience as a Technical Lead
- Previous experience performing CAM duties and reporting on Earned Value metrics
- Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills across large scale products
- Previous Mission One experience is a plus
Primary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
