Employment Type: Full Time
Position Description: Position Description
This is a chance to step into a Senior Consultant role on a modern cloud data platform with a clear, supported path to becoming a Data Architect. You'll be hands on with Snowflake from day one while being deliberately mentored into architecture: design reviews, solution patterns, stakeholder conversations, and technical decision making.
This role is located in Houston, Tx but can be performed in a hybrid work model.
What makes this role stand out:
. Defined growth path: Structured mentorship from experienced architects, with increasing ownership of design decisions over time.
. Modern technology stack: Work with current Snowflake capabilities (Snowpipe, Streams and Tasks, Dynamic Tables, Snowpark, data sharing, and governance features) across major cloud platforms.
. Variety and visibility: Consulting exposure across industries and problem types, so your skills broaden quickly.
. Collaborative team culture: Work alongside engineers, architects, analysts, and data scientists who share knowledge openly and value curiosity.
. Learning support: Access to SnowPro certifications, training time, and community opportunities.
Future Duties and Responsibilities
. Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines (batch and near real time) on Snowflake using SQL, Python, Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, and Dynamic Tables.
. Develop data models (dimensional, data vault, or layered raw/curated/consumption patterns) that support analytics and reporting.
. Build transformation and orchestration workflows using tools such as dbt, Airflow, or Azure Data Factory.
. Apply data governance and security practices, including role based access control, masking policies, row level security, lineage, and data quality.
. Tune query performance and manage cost through warehouse sizing, clustering, caching, and resource monitors.
. Implement CI/CD and DevOps practices for data workloads (Git, automated testing, infrastructure as code, deployment pipelines).
. Participate in solution design sessions and architecture reviews, progressively leading design for components and then full solutions.
. Translate business requirements into technical designs and communicate trade offs clearly to technical and non technical stakeholders.
. Produce clear technical documentation, including design documents and architecture diagrams.
. Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
. Contribute to reusable frameworks, accelerators, and best practice standards for the wider practice.
. Work with the team on a personal development plan toward an architect role, taking on stretch assignments such as pre sales support, technical assessments, and platform roadmaps.

Essential (must have):
. 4+ years of experience in data engineering, with hands on Snowflake experience in production environments.
. Strong proficiency in SQL, including complex transformations and performance tuning.
. Proficiency in Python (including Snowpark or similar) for data processing and automation.

. Experience with Snowflake security and governance (RBAC, masking, access controls).
. Experience working on at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
. Experience building production grade ETL/ELT pipelines, including batch and near real time ingestion.
. Working knowledge of data modeling and data warehousing concepts.
. Experience with Git and CI/CD practices.
. Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with clients and stakeholders.
. Demonstrated interest in and aptitude for growing into an architecture role.
Desired (nice to have):
. SnowPro certifications (Core, Advanced Data Engineer, or Advanced Architect).
. Cloud certifications (Azure, AWS, or GCP data track).
. Experience with dbt and modern transformation frameworks.
. Experience with Dynamic Tables, Snowpark, and Snowflake cost governance.
