SMART Construction Solutions Manager Posting Start Date: 8/6/26 Job Location (Short): Chicago, Illinois, USA, 60631 Requisition ID: 36602 Onsite or Remote: Onsite Position Job Overview As part of Komatsu's North American SMART Construction team, the SMART Construction Solutions Manager will have responsibilities to support the development and delivery of jobsite enhancing solutions. This position will be focused on identifying new opportunities and validating the market for an expanding portfolio of software, hardware, and services to support Komatsu's strategic SMART Construction initiatives. This position will be based out of Chicago, IL or Cartersville, GA, with moderate travel of up to 30% to collaborate with end-use customers, distributors, key technology partners, and Komatsu teams. The position reports to the Sr. Manager, Customer Solutions, within the Digital Office. This position will focus on growing and supporting Smart Construction 3DMG, a dealer-installed GNSS guidance system for excavators that improves grading performance, while also supporting paired digital solutions. Key Job Responsibilities The Smart Construction Solutions Manager will have responsibilities across Komatsu's North America region as follows: Manage North American validation, adoption, and release activities following successful pilots and confirmed support readiness. Track and report findings, voice of customer feedback, opportunities, and issues with appropriate collaborating teams. Stay current on market trends, the competitive landscape, and emerging technologies. Establish and deploy support capabilities for Smart Construction hardware and digital solutions. Support customer success by helping resolve issues and improve processes related to commissioning and in-service use. Create scalable online support methods, including searchable FAQs, self-help media, proactive messaging, and practical usage tips. Create digital and traditional remote training content for Smart Construction hardware and digital solutions. Coordinate with training teams, regional personnel, and other stakeholders to deploy customer demonstrations and special events. Leverage high-impact methods such as self-help content, video, and blog-style resources to elevate output to best-in-industry standards. Market and promote Smart Construction solutions through high-impact engagement with end users, distributors, and Komatsu teams. Use the team's access to digital communication tools, including apps and web portals, to communicate directly with market decision-makers and users. Help drive digital transformation in the industry by clearly communicating the value and ease of adopting these solutions. Bring energy, ambition, and innovation to the team to pursue goals, drive meaningful change within Komatsu, and improve outcomes at customer job sites. Collaborate creatively across teams and departments to overcome obstacles and maximize resources. Qualifications/Requirements - University degree (B.S./B.A.) in Engineering or Business highly preferred, and/or an extensive equivalent experience (10+yrs) in construction, quarry, or mining applications. - Off-highway OEM experience and/or operational knowledge of earthmoving equipment and technology (including Topcon, Trimble, Leica 3D machine control systems) is a plus. - Strong leadership skills supported by superior presentation and communication skills, including computer proficiency (MS Office, application tools as required). - Highly organized and efficient time manager, especially relating to optimizing travel and customer/product visits. - Strong ability to analyze complex technical situations, determine root cause, identify actions and lead resolution and implementation. Additional Information Off-highway OEM experience and/or operational knowledge of earthmoving equipment and technology, including Topcon, Trimble, and Leica 3D machine control systems, is highly desirable. Proven Experience with technology products, including cloud-based products, drones, SaaS, or construction-based technologies. Hiring Range At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $130,000. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
