Standard Job Description

Performs in a collaborative environment to develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling. Drives adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer aided manufacturing software, etc.) to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement. Creates and analyzes 3D based model data environment to optimize manufacturing process and digital work instructions. Leverages understanding of materials and automatic processes to define operations procedures and build sequences to drive operational excellence. Evaluates performance (including IoT devices, etc.) of equipment and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure operational excellence. Leverages factory data to develop statistical process control approaches and integrates reporting and data analytics solutions for continuous improvement. Provides input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelors degree in STEM required to apply

- Active Secret security clearance with an investigation within the last 5 years.AND the ability to obtain special program access within 3 months of start date with LM.

- Experience in an engineering discipline in a manufacturing environment working cross functionally with other disciplines including industrial engineering, planning, scheduling, Quality Assurance &/or production operations

- Experience in electrical harness design review, fabrication, and installation

- Experience in supporting shop floor production activities and rapidly resolving constraints to minimize production impact.

- Proficient working in 3D modelling software (CATIA (preferred), Creo, SolidWorks, Nx), product Lifecycle Manager (PLM) programs (e.g. 3DX, Teamcenter, PDM, etc.), and MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) programs (iBASEt, SAP, etc.).

- Experience with MRP system or SAP or other Manufacturing Execution System (MES) application

- Experience with planning functions including Computer Aided Production Planning (CAPP) and Shop Order Maintenance (SOM)

Desired Skills
• Understanding of systems including SAP and SFM
• Experience with Manufacturing Plan development
• Experience supporting various projects and coordinating activities related to the full life cycle of projects from conception to delivery
• Working knowledge of one or more organizations including: Operations, IT, Planning, Production Control, ERP, MRP, Quality or systems integration.
• Effective communication skills and demonstrated ability to successfully work with other team members including Operations, Production Control, Quality Assurance, IT, Planning and Engineering.
• Demonstrated ability to drive issues to closure and develop preventative action plan to limit failures in the future.
• Demonstrated ability to solve logistical issues and lead efforts to drive mission success.
• Demonstrated understanding of engineering blueprints, process specifications and manufacturing planning.
• Experience working with fighter aircraft in a manufacturing environment

Experience supporting various projects and coordinating activities related to the full life cycle of projects from conception to delivery.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $95900.00 - $178100.00

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
