SkillBridge Program Description:

As one of the largest global security companies in the world, Northrop Grumman is proud to help our nation's military personnel navigate their next chapter into civilian careers. Approximately 20% of Northrop Grumman's 100,000 employees self-identify as veterans, and more than 2,000 are reservists.

The Northrop Grumman SkillBridge Program is an approved SkillBridge Program under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29. The program is an opportunity for service members preparing for civilian careers to gain valuable civilian work experience during their last 6 months of service, for up to 180 days. The SkillBridge Program is open to all ranks and experience levels. SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from Northrop Grumman, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members

Responsibilities for SkillBridge Program participation are:

Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC) has developed the Northrop Grumman - SkillBridge Program (SkillBridge) utilizing the DoDI guidance for SkillBridge. Through this program, the service-member will work on site with their host company, gaining experience in an entry to mid-level career path. The service member will be on the job training supporting a work schedule equivalent to 40hrs per week. Outlined below are the Goals, Objectives, and Outcomes for the program.

Goals - Provide separating service-members with job skills training in a professional setting during the final phase of their military service. This program is specifically designed to offer hands-on experience that result in the potential to convert to a full-time opportunity as the conclusion of the training. Participants will serve as a pipeline for high-speed, motivated military candidates into NGC.

Objectives - Service Members who complete the SkillBridge program will be highly trained, capable, future employees that align to the specific needs of the organization and are prepared to meet the NG mission "Defining Possible" on Day 1. This program provides comprehensive hands-on experience including professional development, networking with leadership, and training specifically focused on NG leadership principles, company history, customer/stakeholder engagement, product and service overview, and core job responsibilities.

Outcome- Offer service-members preparing for civilian careers a rewarding opportunity to join the Northrop Grumman team.

SkillBridge Eligibility:
  • Has served at least 180 days on active duty
  • Is within 12 months of separation or retirement
  • Will receive an honorable discharge
  • Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS
  • Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months
  • Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in SkillBridge Program prior to start of internship.

As an Industrial Security Analyst - Level 3 located in Schriever Air Force Base, CO, you'll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.

The selected candidate will be responsible for managing and executing comprehensive program security operations across multiple security disciplines, while building and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external customers.

This position will work a 5/40 work schedule.

In this job, you will:
  • Serve as the program Security lead and assistant security manager to the customer, providing security oversight of all collateral and restricted program activities
  • Support a fast-paced, high-visibility program, providing proactive security guidance and solutions
  • Create, maintain, and leverage strong working relationships with program management, engineering, contracts, and other internal stakeholders, as well as external customers and government counterparts
  • Manage program security compliance and daily operations across multiple security functions, including but not limited to: Physical Security (PHYSEC), Personnel Security (PERSEC), Operations Security (OPSEC), Contract Security, SETA, Investigations, Visitor Control, and Document Control Management
  • Ensure all operations adhere to applicable federal regulations, DD254 contractual requirements, and program Security Classification Guides (SCG)
  • Provide expert guidance on all security functions in accordance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Administrative Manuals (DoD Manual 5105.21 Volumes 1-3), Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Intelligence Community Directives (ICD), DoD Special Access Program (SAP) Security Manuals (DoD Manual 5205.07 Volumes 1-4), and Other applicable federal, DoD, and customer security requirements
  • Study, interpret, and implement company and federal security policies, regulations, and procedures relevant to program operations
  • Obtain rulings, interpretations, and acceptable deviations from appropriate government agencies to ensure compliance with governing regulations
  • Develop, implement, and maintain security education, training, and awareness programs for program personnel
  • Plan, conduct, and support internal security audits and self-inspections; track and close corrective actions
  • Provide facility security administration, documentation, and general support.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain program Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other security documentation
  • Develop and deliver security-related briefings and presentations to internal and external stakeholders, including program leadership and government customers
  • Provide regular security status updates, risk assessments, and recommendations to management
  • Lead and manage investigations into security incidents and potential compromises. Ensure accurate recording and documentation of all relevant facts in the Security Information Management System (SIMS) and associated files. Implement appropriate corrective actions and report incidents to the CAGE Facility Security Officer (FSO) and Cognizant Security Agency (CSA), as required
  • Provide comprehensive personnel security support, including:
    • Review and processing of documentation in support of DoD, SAP, and SCI nomination and adjudication processes
    • Preparation and administration of program indoctrinations, briefings, and debriefings
    • Accessing, reviewing, and submitting clearance/access information via DISS and other government systems
    • Maintain PERSEC databases in accordance with customer and corporate tracking requirements
  • Maintain and operate document control registers/databases; manage the receipt, transmission, reproduction, storage, tracking, and destruction of classified material
  • Process and manage incoming and outgoing visit authorizations; oversee visitor control procedures; coordinate with installation security
  • Maintain accountability of all classified material, including document registers, electronic media transfers, and secure destruction programs
  • Perform other security-related duties as assigned to support overall program and corporate security objectives
  • Other duties as assigned


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of professional experience - OR - Master's degree with 3 years of professional experience - OR - PhD with 1 year of professional experience. Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree
  • Requires an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Top-Security/Sensitive Compartmented Information security clearance within six months of hire
  • Must have knowledge and familiarity with the CFR 32 part 117 (NISPOM); Intelligence Community Directives (ICD); DoD Manuals, and other related security requirements
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with Desktop Computer and Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to display tact, discretion, and diplomacy in dealing with all levels of employees and customers


PreferredQualifications:
  • Experience with SIMS and/or Government Security Databases
  • Experience with DISS, SIMS, Lenel, or similar databases
  • Ability to work independently and maintain flexibility when dealing with changing priorities and deadlines
  • Self-starter with minimal supervision

Primary Level Salary Range: $85,600.00 - $128,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
