Full Job Description
SITE SUPERINTENDENT - GROUND IMPROVEMENT

This position is based out of our office in Burnaby, BC and project sites across the lower mainland, BC as needed.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Site Superintendent - Ground Improvement will lead field operations on complex ground improvement projects. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for delivering safe, high-quality, and productive site operations while overseeing crews, equipment, and subcontractors in dynamic construction environments.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead execution of ground improvement works including vibro compaction, vibro replacement (stone columns), and soil densification techniques
  • Plan and coordinate technical and logistical requirements for new job sites in collaboration with the Project / Site Management
  • Supervise Site Supervisors, Foremen, and crews to ensure work is executed in accordance with approved plans, drawings, and company procedures
  • Develop work programs and sequencing of site operations in coordination with Project / Site Management
  • Ensure all work is performed using current, approved drawings and specifications
  • Monitor and control site progress; provide daily reporting and advise management of any deficiencies or deviations
  • Prepare accurate daily site reports, including verification by the Client's representative
  • Ensure all site activities comply with BAUER Health & Safety policies
  • Ensure equipment and tools are available, properly maintained, and suitable for soil and site conditions
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance and servicing with the Project Manager
  • Coordinate material orders and control material usage and wastage
  • Inspect materials to ensure compliance with project specifications
  • Supervise, coordinate, and monitor subcontractor performance and progress
  • Liaise with suppliers, clients, engineers, and site representatives as required
  • Conduct daily workforce briefings and provide clear directions to crews
  • Attend project meetings as directed by the Project / Site Manager

WHAT WE LOOK FOR
  • 7 - 10+ years of demonstrated ground improvement experience, with a strong exposure to ground densification by vibro-replacement methods
  • Previous experience as a Site Superintendent or Senior Site Supervisor on heavy civil or geotechnical projects
  • Deep understanding of granular soil behavior, densification techniques, and specialized equipment
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety requirements and site best practices
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications

SALARY RANGE

The salary range for this position is between $150,000 - $190,000, based on experience.
