As a Site Superintendent, you will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of this state-of-the-art hospital and healthcare facility, bringing strong site leadership, construction expertise, and a commitment to safety, quality, and collaboration. You will work closely with the project management team and on-site operations, and subtrades to ensure project excellence through your outstanding leadership, keen eye for detail and commitment.
This position follows a 14 days on, 7 days off rotation and operates on a fly in fly out schedule.
What you will do:
• Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety and Environmental Protection on the project. Effectively apply the requirements of the project specific safety standards, regulations and codes with all employees and trade partners on the project;
• Use your proactive approach to determine project materials are supplied and in compliance with our Quality Program;
• Assess and follow up on on-site manpower requirements;
• Collaborate with our trade partners and consultants;
• Support the construction schedule in conjunction with the project team ensuring that completion dates and milestones are met;
• Apply strong problem solving skills to develop innovative approaches that enhance team and operational effectiveness
• Collaborate with the Project Manager for all construction site start-up details including the schedule;
• Be a role model during coordination meetings with our clients and associated representatives;
• Oversee workforce training for the site team and ensure all required certifications and training remain current;
• Actively receive delivered materials on site according to policy;
• Ensure the project is executed in full compliance with approved plans, specifications, shop drawings, and all applicable building codes, while maintaining accurate and up to date documentation;
• Maintain construction site inventory and work with the logistics team to ensure accuracy;
• Celebrate project success and completion and be a key member of the project wrap-up process.
This role could be for you if you have:
• 10+ years in the industry.
• Experience on multi-disciplinary, phased construction projects, including at least one (1) with a value greater than $100M CDN;
• A construction related certificate, diploma or degree;
• A proven track record of project success and team collaboration;
• Strong knowledge of construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, quality and cost control;
• The ability to quickly identify problematic situations, identify possible causes, produce effective solutions and collaboratively lead a large team to successful completion;
• A passion to develop, maintain and execute the project schedule;
• Knowledge of office software and in drawings and specification reading:
• Have a good understanding of architectural plans
• Experience working in a remote setting, and within healthcare is an asset.
