Truspace is looking for an experienced Site Manager to deliver high-profile portfolios of commercial design-builds and refurbishment projects that exceed our client's expectations in Toronto. The successful candidate has an excellent track record within industry experience and has extensive experience in a commercial environment. They will also be a highly motivated person who works well within a team and take ownership of their assigned responsibilities, be hands-on with the ability to identify problems and resolve them in as efficient a manner as possible, and be able to build/sustain relationships with the suppliers, trades, clients and the project team, with energy, drive, and total commitment to design excellence.
This is a project-based job opportunity starting June 2026.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day site operations and support the successful delivery of construction projects.
- Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within scope.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, trades, and laborers on site.
- Receive, inspect, and verify material deliveries for accuracy and completeness.
- Perform general labor and hands-on construction tasks when required.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with project drawings, specifications, and client requirements.
- Maintain high quality standards and ensure workmanship aligns with company expectations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and site procedures.
- Enforce Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) policies and regulatory requirements on site.
- Monitor site progress and proactively identify and resolve issues that may impact project timelines or quality.
- Maintain strong working relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
- Ensure client expectations and satisfaction are consistently met or exceeded.
- Support project activities from permit stage through construction completion.
What we are looking for:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the commercial construction industry.
- Experience managing commercial tenant improvement (TI), renovation, or design-build projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and interior construction processes.
- Familiarity with Ontario Building Code (OBC), Construction Health & Safety standards, and LEED construction practices.
- Experience working with property managers, tenants, and building operations teams is an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Excellent organization, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coordinate multiple trades and site activities.
